Great location in walking distance from the port and Chora. We enjoyed the amazing view to the castle from the veranda-it is exactly as shown in the photos. Brand new, clean and spacious. Also the parking space was very convenient. The host was very polite and the overall service very professional. We will definitely stay in Ydria if we visit Astypalaia again.

Beautifully decorated and well cared for property with high quality facilities. And two balconies- take your pick to watch the ferries and yachts come in, and the fishermen bringing in their catch. It’s a great location at the port with cafes, restaurants and small supermarkets close by. There’s transport (ebus by app) to the Hora but try to walk to the top. Breathtaking. The owner met me at the ferry and walked me back. He was very helpful and informative, an extremely pleasant man. Fruit and water in the apartment.

The room is spacious, extremely clean, comfortable, and one block from the Chora (city center) beach. There are many restaurants nearby, one grocery store and more or less near the biggest supermarket. The owners are super friendly and are always responsive to any requests, and gives you tips regarding what to do on the island and where to get things, including transport. The internet is fast and stable, in case you go work there, or even if you bring your streaming device (Apple TV, Fire Stick, etc.). The kitchen has enough appliances for a long stay and the bed is big and confortable. It also has a bedsofa but I didn't use it. All in all, a perfect place to stay for short and long term.

Excellent boutique hotel in a perfect location. 5 minutes walk to Chora and 5 minutes walk to the beautiful Livadi Beach. The hotel is family run, the owners and staff are very friendly, you immediately feel at home here. Excellent, rich breakfast, international and with homemade local specialties, which are lovingly explained by host Lisa. Always perfect service from the very friendly owner Maria, be it picking you up at the airport, reserving a rental car, taxi or just providing information about good tips. The rooms are very clean and lovingly furnished, you just feel comfortable here, like at home. The owners of the hotel also own a yacht on which they offer day trips to the offshore islands with the most beautiful bathing bays. This unique opportunity should not be missed. Owner and skipper Mike as also crewmember Mike leave nothing to be desired, with cool drinks, snacks and a sensational final meal. An absolutely relaxed, friendly atmosphere, as if you were out with friends. An unforgettable experience that is unique.

The staff were absolutely the standout at this property! The property was absolutely perfect for our needs as a family of 4 (2 kids, 6 and 4), we had the junior suite with pool. It was modern, spacious, well equipped, clean. The place itself was perfectly located - a short walk into Chora, even for our small kids, and a short drive to Lavadi (you can walk in approx 10 mins, but we didn’t dare as the walk back with kids is quite steep and we had a car, so opted to take it each time). The main pool area is stunning, as is the restaurant and the breakfast is SUPPERB! We also ate in the restaurant for dinner twice and found it to be the best on the island (we enjoyed the Italian for a change to Greek food). However, the cherry on the top for us with this place was every single staff member. A very special shout out to Leo and Irine, who could not have done more for us, they went out of their way to ensure we had an incredible experience and were left needing nothing. They also made our kids feel so special and our kids LOVED them both. Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a magical week we had as a family in Astypalia. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here!

The town is built on a very steep hillside, with most of the restaurants and bars at the top. In the summer there is a bus that runs from the beach to the top. If you come by ferry, check the sailing times, as most are middle of the night and the main port is not at Pera Gyalos. The roads leave a lot to be desired.
