Amazing experience My stay at Amira hotel was absolutly great. The hotel is brand new, meaning all the facilities are in a perfect shape. It is even better than the photos. Best of all is the staff, very kind, helpful, smiling,  dedicated to your needs and to make your stay the best possible. I had the good surprise to be upgraded (without asking maybe due to low season?) to a room with sea front view, which was absolutly great. The room is decorated with taste, cleanned every day, with good bedding. The swimming pool area is really nice, and the access to the beach is easy. There is also an inside heated pool, very nice. The beach is clean, has a beautiful view on the mountains on the west, the water is really clean and safe. You can see a beautiful sunset every day. The main restaurant included in the half board is good from my experience of such hotels: tasty, varied and fresh. I strongly recommand the "gourmet" restaurant, the Kritamo: excellent food and large portions with a top class service. The spa is beautiful, good massages, great staff. You can also enjoy sauna and hammam for free, just need to make a booking. It has been a long time I didn't enjoy such a good stay and such a high value for price, thank you very much to all the Amira Team.

We had a great time here! Everything was super cosy and well thought out. People were very friendly and the owner was a real life saver! When we had trouble printing our tickets, he stepped in with his impressive "hacking skills" and saved the day! Huge thanks for that!

Amazing boutique hotel at the beach. The location is perfect-quiet but still close to the town (Retimno), restaurants and shops. The staff is always helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend, especially for people who want to relax in a peaceful surroundings.

Loved everything, the beautiful spacious suite and the sea view ( we were upgraded), the very friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast, the private access to the beach and the hotel pool, it was just perfect, I highly recommend a stay at Ammos Suites.

This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. Beautiful, comfortable with amazing views over the hills to the sea. The breakfast was a cornucopia of delights and eating it in the sun dappled courtyard was wonderful. The pool is lovely. All the staff were brilliant and welcoming. The fine dinning restaurant boasts bold reimaginings of Greek classics but I would recommend the Taverna in the next village (Amnatos) for hearty traditional Greek food. I cannot recommend enough

The area is lovely.

The area is lovely. Just a 15 minute drive into the mountains you’ll find rustic Crete. No shops and only two restaurants with no menu, just whatever they were cooking that day. The most amazing fresh food; all produced from their own farm. Absolute bliss.

The place itself isn't very exciting, but it has everything...

The place itself isn't very exciting, but it has everything you need: a supermarket, café, tavernas, a restaurant, a beach, and excellent transport links. We had a rental car and did a lot of exploring, which made the location perfect, as it's very close to the main road. We wouldn't recommend it for a stay without a rental car.

A lovely little village, not too touristy – here you can...

A lovely little village, not too touristy – here you can still experience a bit of "real Crete". Several restaurants (including Dimitris' Taverna right on the beach – you could kiss the chef!) and shops. Excellent transport links by car and bus.
