This tiny old stones house is a gem ! It feels so cosy. The energy is so calming. The location is so quiet and wild, just as a Cretan Postcard. You can enjoy the sunset everyday from the olive groves, that’s pure magic ! Sandy and Michalis are the best hosts I’ve ever had in years ! They made me feel incredibly comfortable and were so kind to me, very helpful, and have the sense of authentic hospitality that many 5* are looking for providing but cannot imitate !

My stay at Anezina Cretan hospitality exceeded all my expectations! The host was really friendly and had adjusted the check-in and check-out times to my special needs. The keys awaited me at the locker and when I stepped into the apartment, I was amazed by its flawless Aesthetics 😍 The apartment was so cosy, clean, and welcoming that I felt immediately at home. The bed was really comfortable, and I woke up to the view of sublime olive trees. In the kitchen, the host had nicely put chocolate, cookies, rusks, butter, marmalade, and 2 bottles of water for me, so I was able to make myself a rich breakfast. I've rarely encountered such kind-hearted hospitality and politeness. I would recommend Anezina really warmly! It's located at a really quite and beautiful place only 3 minutes away from the village center. I wish you a stay as great as mine!

A cozy, clean apartment with a wonderful view from the balcony. I wish I had stayed there longer. The proximity to the airport is very pleasing. I walked to the airport with my luggage in 20 minutes.

I stayed in Crete in three different accommodations. This was the last one, and by far one of the worst places you could end up with for a summer seaside holiday. 1. There was a dedicated pump for the air conditioning. The AC worked only partially in the living room, where it barely managed to cool the air. In the bedrooms, however, it didn’t work at all, so the only option was to keep the windows open. Since the location is central, the outside noise was so disturbing that we couldn’t rest at all. Maybe if the AC had worked and we could have kept the windows closed, we might have managed to sleep. 2. There was no hot water at all. We had to shower with cold water throughout our entire stay. 3. Basic kitchen utensils were missing… there was only one knife (a butter knife) and a few fruit forks. We couldn’t even cut and eat a watermelon. 4. We contacted the owner regarding the hot water and heating, and we received the same message as the one posted on Booking: the pump is turned on by pressing a button (which we did, but nothing worked). 5. The washing machine (which was a priority for us, so we wouldn’t have to carry too much luggage) was very dirty and did not work properly: the fabric softener compartment was clogged with dirt (I had to clean it), but it didn’t help, because the machine still didn’t work well – it didn’t take in the softener and didn’t spin the clothes. Maybe if the apartment manager actually cared, this could be a nice accommodation at a reasonable price. In the current situation, however, the price was far too high for the conditions offered.

The people are very friendly and most speak or can communicate in several European languages. The city is clean (no litter !!) and the food a and drink is excellent Culturally - this is superb - if ancient history and tall tales of greek mythology are of interest - the museums are well laid out and tourist groups "directed" One significant and pleasant item is that if you are an EU resident and 65 plus you get reduced entry fees into the national museums and attractions ( ID needed)

Our visit to Knossos and the Archeological Museum made our trip very worthwhile. Heraklion itself - very noisy, busy, a bit chaotic, a bit scruffy. In town centre were nice pedestrian streets with loads of nice restaurants and bars. We could have just drinks or coffees or small plates or full meals, so it was flexible and people were nice. All loo facilities were excellent. Bus service great - buy a day ticket 5 euros.

we only stayed one night to catch the ferry, as such I'm ill...

we only stayed one night to catch the ferry, as such I'm ill-equipped to review it as we arrived late afternoon and left early the next morning. I can say that you'll hear planes as frequent at 2-5 minutes apart at certain times of the day.
