With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history whilst embracing the future. I have mixed feelings about Athens as a whole.
I have mixed feelings about Athens as a whole. I knew it was a big city but it had more a big city feel versus a traditional Greek feel than I expected. The main strip with the tourist attractions was good, not too crowded in early May which was nice. But the city does have a really big and sad drug and homeless problem. It wasn't safe for me, as a solo female traveler, to walk around past 7pm and I saw some things that were really heartbreaking to witness. The history of the city and the food were amazing and beautiful but you just have to be mentally and emotionally prepared to take in both sides of the city while you're there as it's unavoidable.AlyssaUnited States - 10Scored 10

You have absolutely to try local restaurants that deliver traditional dishes of Greek cuisine. I have never been to Athens before, but this was my first trip here and I absolutely loved it. The food is delicious and the prices are quite similar to other countries I have visited, so I did not find them expensive. If you walk around and explore, you will find many economic and excellent options for food. I did not face any issues related to transportation. However, I heard from the locals that it's important to be careful with your bag and phone and avoid wearing gold jewellery to avoid any unpleasant situations.

For my opinion I felt a bit bored of Athens, besides the Parthenon that is of course a must see place and the neighbourhood of Plaka, there isn't any much more to do, I would highly recommend to just spend one day there is plenty enough and will recommend you to visits the island that a way more beautiful and more fun do to such as Paros or MykonosJulienFrance

Breakfast was standard with egg ham cheese and several greece pastry. But no complain with the price and location its worth the money. We rent family room and turned out its 2 rooms with connecting door and 2 bathroom! Great one !
