A beautifully renovated apartment in a delightful little town in Corfu. Immaculately clean with all the amenities a couple of even family would need. We (a couple) stayed for 3 nights and stayed in the bedroom downstairs, but there is also another double bed in the loft. The location is great, as it really feels like you are part of the village with locals all around and the church right next door. Restaurants are a short walk away through the village were locals and tourists mingle together. With a scooter or car, beaches are not too far away. A great little terrace out front to enjoy the mountain views, watch the locals and all the village cats go about their days and listen to canaries singing. The apartment is a beautiful mix of modern amenities (including 2 air conditioners), and modern styling with lovely original accents such as stone walls. I couldn't see why anyone would be disappointed with this amazing accommodation.

Very spacious apartment with two terraces, beds were very comfortable, and kitchen equiped with every appliance one can imagine - from a toaster and nespresso coffee machine to an air fryer and a blender, also an oven and a microwave. The location is quite comfortable to explore the island, since it is in the middle of it. The village of Agios Mattheos is cozy, with several tavernas, shops and bakeries, 3 km to Paramonas beach. But what makes your stay exceptional are the hosts - very kind greek couple who treat you with care and you feel like a family member

We had a wonderful two weeks at the house. It had plenty of space for the four of us, was very clean, and wonderfully quiet. The location is great for exploring all of Corfu. The family was incredibly warm and welcoming. We often enjoyed meals at their taverna just around the corner – absolutely delicious! We can highly recommend this place. Nikos is an amazing host. Nothing was too much trouble. He waited in the dark to guide us in to Villa Meliti and kept helping with places to see as it was our first trip to Corfu. The villa is tucked away on the west coast and will be quiet and secluded in the high tourist season. And yet very near the nearby town of Agios Mattheos and the excellent Governor's Olive MIll tour (which is a must!). Villa has everything you need and is well thought out with 3 bedrooms on the first floor and one on the ground floor. We were 7 and a baby and we all had plenty of space. Beautiful!

the hotel is incredible. the staff is very kind. the location of the hotel is very convenient for many reasons because it is in the middle of the island and you can move anywhere on the island you want. very good facilities and it is a modern hotel. The room was very clean and modernly designed, and the bathroom was clean and spacious. the most unique thing is the view from the balcony. I would come to this hotel again and again

Very picturesque village with twisting little alleyways...

Very picturesque village with twisting little alleyways leading up and down the mountainside. A good choice of tavernas selling traditional Greek food, also bars with some selling locally made wine. Sunday was a very busy day, all the locals were out and enjoying a coffee and a chat. Greece at its best

AgiosMatthaios is very atmospheric and scruffy!

AgiosMatthaios is very atmospheric and scruffy! People were friendly and easy-going. A walk through the top of the village gives great views over the mountains. Eating out could be better but every restaurant gives big platefuls of local corfiot food. Sitting outside the Cosmas cafe for a beer would tell you a lot about the villagers and their habits. We would definitely stay again purely for the Greek way of life.

Agios Matthaios is a pretty village, with very warm-hearted...

Agios Matthaios is a pretty village, with very warm-hearted locals. It is however, only reasonable to stay there if you have a car if you want to reach any local facilities at all. That includes reaching public transport, since the buses to the village are infrequent, only go to Corfu town, do not run in the evenings nor on Bank holidays or weekends. There are pleasant, hilly walks from the village with beautiful wild flowers, olive groves and sea views. The local (rather scruffy) beach is about an hour's walk away. There is a taverna and a kebab cafe in the village, both reasonably priced and with a varied menu and two small, well'stocked supermarkets to help with self-catering. There is also a delightful olive oil farm just down the road, with an invitation for a free look around and tasting afterwards - and a few things to buy, if you wish of course!
