The almost 300 photos are ancient, none of them resemble the truth...
The hotel is totally run down. Our photos prove this.
The descriptions on booking.com are a deception. Much of the description is exaggerated or just a lie. There is no billiards, no children's playground,...
It says in the description that the hotel is 12 km from the airport.
And 10 KM from the city center.
Because this was important, I asked the hotel again via WhatsApp.
The answer was that it is a 30 minute drive.
In fact, it is many times over.
If we can get through without a lot of traffic, it will take around 2 hours by taxi.
I have verifiably asked several times via WhatsApp how expensive the trip to the city is. The answer was: Not expensive…
The hotel is in the middle of the slums. Contrary to the hotel's statement, there are no restaurants or shops on the beach. There is nothing on the beach but dirt. No other hotel for miles, only local fishermen. There are maybe 5 guests in the hotel, which has more than 3 times as many employees. The hotel is good for local rich Ghanaians who want to spend a weekend there, but Booking.com offering such a hotel is a scandal.
We had to serve our time in the hotel, there was no evening entertainment, just a run-down sports bar. There we could try to while away our time drinking while playing football...
What scared us very much:
We soon understood that the employees' goal was to cheat us out of our money with overpriced excursions or taxis. We were being watched. We couldn't order an Uber or BORT taxi because they didn't come out to this region. And the local sleazy taxi drivers worked closely with the hotel, depended on the hotel and gave accurate reports of what we were doing. We wouldn't have come back with an UBER or BORT because the description of the place couldn't be found by other taxis. So we were totally dependent on the hotel.

Accra is a city with many layers. You need to take time to see all of it and the best advice is to ditch Google and ask the local taxi drivers for what ever you fancy. Be specific and don`t be shocked to find first world restaurants tucked away in obscure run down streets. Stay away from tourist traps as Ghana is expensive as it is and malls charge over and above for things you can have in the city for less.

The sightseeing tours were most enlightening.
The sightseeing tours were most enlightening. Learning about the history of the country and the people was eye opening. It was so much more than what we have been taught in schools and what we see on TV. The people we encountered were very pleasant and welcoming. Visiting the museums and other historic sites was absolutely amazing. The restaurants and the food was delightful. Some of the most beautiful restaurants. As well, Mosques and Churches were always nearby.
I stayed 10 days and visited 5 of the 16 regions. I will return to see and experience more.

Title: Beware of Deceptive Andy at TheLennox in Accra
Title: Beware of Deceptive Andy at TheLennox in Accra
I booked a room at TheLennox in Accra through Booking.com, which was confirmed via email and also over the phone by a person named Andy. However, my experience with Andy quickly revealed him to be a dishonest individual.
Moments after arriving at the hotel, I presented my active booking confirmation to Andy, only to find out that he had sold the room to another guest through Airbnb. Despite providing concrete evidence of my prior reservation, Andy callously claimed that the other guest had paid, and therefore, he had given the room to them instead. This behavior is nothing short of deceitful and impudent.
To make matters worse, Andy also attempted to upsell me to a room that was double the price of my original reservation. It is evident that he was trying to coerce me into paying more for accommodation. This kind of manipulative behavior is unacceptable and further underscores his untrustworthiness.
I want to emphasize the unscrupulous role that Andy played in this situation. He knowingly confirmed my reservation, then tried to push me into a more expensive room while giving away my original booking to someone else for his own gain. It's clear that he is not to be trusted.
I write this review as a deeply disappointed customer to warn others about the risk of encountering someone like Andy at TheLennox. Such unethical and dishonest behavior should not be tolerated in the hospitality industry. I strongly advise against staying at this establishment, as you may also fall victim to Andy's fraudulent actions.
Never again.

Excellent holiday in Accra, i wish i had travelled sooner in my life and stayed longer than my 2 weeks vacation.
This is an amazing Country at times it emotional and sad :( but we learnt so much more of the history.
we enjoyed everything we did, from sopping on Oxford Street in Osu, to the hustle and bustle of Makola market, the visits to National Museum of Ghana, Elmina Castle, Cape Coast Castle, most of the Forts, Botanical gardens, eating at the local restaurants, we visited too many places to mention
Just everything about this trip was nice.

Easy to get around a very diverse city, Extremely helpful and frendly people As a vegetarian I found eating out extremely difficult, On my next visit I would have to book accommodation that has cooking facilities.
Theres nothing that i would avoid.
Location, security, comfort, and cleanliness are things I don't compromise when searching for accommodations during my travels, and this place aced all of them during my stay. At the top is the security protocol implemented at the building for guests. The apartments are very modern, clean, and comfortable. The location is just great. It is easily accessible and very close to the airport. Making everything better was my host, Eric. Very polite and effective guy. I look forward to staying here during my next visit to Accra.
The ambiance and vibe of the hotel IMO exceeded that of any other place I've stayed in Ghana. The pool and outside courtyard area ia ao nice and serene. The area is very walkable and has an amazing Tea Buffet nearby thats a must tty for food and/or drinks. There's security around 24/7 and the girls at the front desk are very polite and helpful. Our breakfast was plentiful and delicious and even as I was wiriting this the gentleman called to let us know breakfast was ready! Can't wait to come and stay again
Bays Lodge is well situated at the center of many attractions in Accra. It has a mall on the opposite side of the road; it is close to the beach, Spintex Road, and Osu, which has the most attractions. The staff was exceptional, especially Nana Aba, who checked me in. There was another one who did the night shift and a gorgeous one who brought my favorite Ghanaian dish, Waakye, for my breakfast. Anyone heading to Accra, either for business or pleasure, should check out Bays Lodge.
Oh I loved the sleeping there. The bedsheets were sooo soft and fresh. The design is european style, very modern. The room even had a balcony. The kitchen is a normal sized kitchen with a microwave, which I've never seen anywhere else before during my journey in Ghana. Another thing I haven't seen before is nice and cozy rugs next to the bed. Air-condition worked.
The staff is beyond words, anything I needed, they helped me instantly and they were really kind.
My reservation was changed without my knowledge to a different hotel/location. Weeks before my departure I had scheduled for a shuttle service for pickup at the airport once I had arrived but no one showed up in which left me to become a victim of being over charged for my travel to the hotel. Once I had arrived to the hotel after being told by the driver he had no idea where the hotel was located. At that point I was absolutely concerned and somewhat afraid.
I booked a studio apartment with Ghana Luxury Apartments and was immediately impressed by how spacious and clean the unit was. I had a great view of the community pool. My apartment was also equipped with toiletries and water bottles. The building was walking distance from a grocery store, pharmacy, gym and restaurant. The only aspect better than the community was the host. Osborne was very kind, welcoming and helpful. I would 100% recommend this company.
Somewhere nice is just something else. This place became my temporary home in Ghana even if it was just for a few nights. Everyone made me feel right at home, it's the ideal place for solo travellers to meet people and learn more about things to do in Accra and Ghana. The facilities and the exterior of the place are dreamy - the pool with bar especially offered the perfect relaxation. I will definitely be back.
The best apartment I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality room and high quality service.
I have stayed at dozen of apartments in Accra. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine. Thank you so much.
i really enjoyed my stay at the property , Naomi was exceptional, breakfast was served , the wifi was good, the room is neat and i will come back again to marysin guest house .
the environment is gated community that assured my safety and security personnel's were all over the community,
i will recommend marysin guest house for your next visit to Ghana.
The customer service was excellent! The room was very neat and cozy, with clean bedding. Everything was just on point.
I like that it was quiet and close to everything I needed. I came for work so I needed a quiet atmosphere, and I got just that. I am very happy to have a place I can stay anytime I come to Ghana.
The room was very clean and spacious. Staff were nice, allowed me to check in early. Sound proof. Not much noise. Many restaurants walking distance and inside the hotel. 15min from the airport. I wish i could have stayed longer but my group trip started the next day. So I had to depart. I highly recommend
The hotel staff did everything to make our stay comfortable. The hotel and the room are in perfect condition, with a pool available too. The location is also in a very accessible location - close to the airport, not far from other parts of Accra and able to access the motorway to the wider region.
The breakfast was sumptuous. I also love the proximity to the airport.
A big thumbs up 👍for the fact that they cherished their local prints which I also got some in makola market. It was a beautiful experience I had in Accra Ghana😍
The sanity and sincerity is superb😊
The location is great and the staff were very helpful. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable with strong wifi and amazing breakfast. I really enjoyed the hospitality Ghana had to offer through them. All in all, great experience.
It is a cozy little hotel nicely located in relatively close distance to the airport. I asked to change my room and they gave me an upgrade which was really nice. Overall staff was nice and friendly. Internet was stable and strong.
Apartments was clean, lovely smell. Host planned for my visit and made sure everything was in place. Will definitely return. This one is on top of my list for Apartments in Ghana 🇬🇭
The apartment is nice, with a clean and conducive environment.
The staff were quick to respond to any of my requests.
I loved it and will always stay there anytime I visit Ghana
For a first-time visit to Ghana, this was a nice place to begin. The staff were friendly, accomodating and always ready to help. Also great value for money.
