The family were so kind to us, they prepare delicious food and on our second night even invited us to join them for homemade Khinkali with some friends and other guests. The bar area is super cosy with the log fire, and even though the temperatures were reaching -15 in the night, the bed was comfy and warm. They provide a small heater for the room too which really helps. We really enjoyed our stay here and it's a great location to reach any area of the village on foot.

Our stay was very special here so we spent an extra night in Ushguli! The location is perfect, the vegan dinner and breakfast was tasty and very creative. Rooms and common spaces are feels like home but the biggest benefit is the host lady! She is very a kind person with huge heart. We had nice talks and I felt real and deep connection between us! It was the second time when we stayed at Mshvidoba, and everything was great. Although we were a big group (8 people) we fit in comfortably. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very friendly, as last time.

When we arrived, the two daughters were milking a cow and one of the sons welcomed us in the Guesthouse. The mother made us delicious dinner and breakfast, and the father makes beautiful wooden sculptures. They even helped us arrange a van back to Mestia for a good price. Lovely family in a very authentic and special place!

Our stay was amazing! The cottage is in a beautiful location with stunning mountain views in every direction. It was warm, clean, and cozy, and we loved the peaceful atmosphere of Ushguli. We also went on a horseback ride through the valley — it was absolutely unforgettable!

The guesthouse surpassed all my expectations in every way. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. Ushguli is a wonderful city with its stunning nature and historical beauty, perfect for resting after long trekking and hiking adventures. Tamar Castle is a must-visit spot. Located at the upper part of the city, it’s reached via a scenic path intertwined with a dried-up riverbed. The view of the city from the castle is breathtaking. Additionally, vibrant wildflowers along the mountains add a colorful charm to the city’s atmosphere. After a 6-day hike, we arranged a taxi back to Mestia with help from the facility where we stayed. It’s also easy to find many taxi drivers in the city square.

Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location.

Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location. Quite simply a dream. It deserves time spent here. More than a day trip. You can hike. You can sit and soak up the unforgettable views. Wandering through Ushguli is like stepping back in time. We stayed for two nights and it was quite simply one of the top highlights of our travels to date. Our mistake: not staying longer.

Authentic beautiful mountain village. Definitely recommend.

Authentic beautiful mountain village. Definitely recommend. But it is cheaper to get there then to return from it to Mestia. You can go hiking to Shkhara glacier by foot or take a horse for half a way.
