Ibis Swansea had comfortable rooms either modern decor and scrupulously clean. Hairdryer, iron and tea and coffee were provided in the room and a lift serviced all floors. It was very quiet and had free onsite parking. There is a great lounge/bar area on the ground floor and the onsite bar and restaurant were very convenient. The staff were fantastic: helpful, friendly and relaxed.

During our stay, we have received exceptional service from front desk, restaurant staff, and night security. In particular, Steve & Simon at night, and Rachel at Reception. Indeed, they made our stay feel like home as they go above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable over Christmas For example, Steve made me a cup of tea at 3am (as I was jet lagged, could not sleep, and did not want to wake my wife to make a beverage). He also informed bar staff that he would "close out & clean up" after letting me watch my home NFL team the Seattle Seahawks after the bar was closed. Rachel provided us with service and assistance that was more commensurate with the concierge at The Langham, New York rather than a desk clerk, and enthusiastically attended to our every need. I have never experienced such a professional and friendly team of people in a UK hotel!

The hotel & its sister hotel - Morgans - are superb. We had travelled a long way before arriving & the room was on the top floor of the Georgian, which has no lift. Thankfully the staff were extremely helpful & allowed us to take a vacant room in the Morgans, which is just on the opposite side of the street. We would definitely stay at either hotel again, highly recommended.

FAQs about hotels in Swansea

Green Gateway to the Gower

Upon seeing Swansea for the first time, it hits you just how green it is, especially when viewed from Kilvey Hill. On a clear day the views stretch as far as sweeping Swansea Bay and even the undulating Mumbles headland at the edge of the Gower Peninsula - the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with unspoilt beaches.

The Gower is also known for its castles, including Oystermouth Castle and Loughor Castle, overlooking the city from a hilltop. Swansea itself also has castle ruins which are Grade I listed, as is the Guildhall with its lavish interior frescoes.

Most historic city centre buildings were sadly lost during World War II, but the elegant Grand Theatre survived, as did Dylan Thomas’ childhood home in Uplands. The Swansea Museum – the oldest in Wales – is opposite the National Waterfront Museum and the LC indoor waterpark.

Offshore conditions are good for kitesurfing, and the marina shelters yachts overlooked by Wales’ tallest building: The Tower, Meridian Quay. The nearby SA1 Waterfront complex is becoming popular for its bars and restaurants, while shopping options include a covered market and the Morfa Shopping Park by Liberty Stadium, home to the city’s football and rubgy union teams.

Booking.com’s Swansea accommodation includes luxury hotels, cheap apartments and guest houses with parking.

Swansea has a vibrant nightlife due to it being a university city but also some great places to eat at good prices. City centre shopping is fair with a good variety of shops but is a little run down in comparison to Cardiff for example. Good place to visit and will definitely be going again .

Had a good wonder around swansea market. meals out at bracelet bay and nines restaurant food was a bit cool but cooked to perfection and a good selection. Parking was a pain as if you were at caswell bay, there was no signal to pay. would I go again ..yeah as soon as I can.

Swansea is on the coastline, it should be enjoyable.

Swansea is on the coastline, it should be enjoyable. I didn't see any beaches though, just brown sand and lots of rocks by the ocean. Every time I stepped out and I only went to a Tesco superstore near the Marina, I was followed and hounded by clueless and delusional creeps selling drugs, which is illegal. They would stink up the areas I was walking by with Marijuana; it was disgusting! I wish I had visited the Swansea Marina, the ruins from the Castle and the waterfall. The bad guys were everywhere including in the places I stayed. I wanted to buy a new handbag and some electronics but I felt nauseated at the prospect of going out, so I didn't buy anything. From one of the apartments I stayed, I could see people walking to participate in the Scavenger Hunts they had during the summer. There was also an event at a parking lot across the street that I decided not to go for safety reasons. Traveling is certainly no longer the fun it used to be.

The summer had just hit when we arrived in Swansea, and we were hot and irritated after a long drive getting to the hotel. The staff were so friendly, and the lobby music was calming and casual as well as cool. The room had great air conditioning, and that was a big plus for us straight away. We had a room with a view of the city and a balcony to sit out on. We dined on one days there and the food was fantastic. Swansea was so beautiful, and the weather was amazing. I was very sorry to be leaving

Beautiful self-contained house/flat on a quiet street with plenty of on-street parking, conveniently situated about a 20 min walk from Swansea centre. The flat itself was very clean and I had a great night's sleep. Everything is very bright and airy. Nice to have a fridge. Sloping ceilings mean walking around is a bit awkward but no real problem. Good hot shower downstairs. Really great value for money and a way better alternative to hotels.

A further stay at the Marriott, Swansea. As before - an excellent experience. Very comfortable room with a great view over Swansea Bay. Good, honest food in the restaurant at sensible prices. Great breakfast with the lovely Lynne as attentive as ever. Above all the staff are so friendly - not always the case with larger hotel chains !
