Beautifully restored and presented Cotswold stone cottage in a charming little village. 2 good sized bedrooms with very comfortable beds, fresh and modern kitchen and bathroom. Lovely gas fire and central heating so we were nice and warm. Nick is a great host and made us feel very welcome.

Warm friendly welcome. Unbelievable service. So helpful. Welcome treats in our room. Lots to see just short drive away. Blenheim palace, Diddlysquat farm, Rousham House and Gardens, the Costwolds and more. Excellent restaurant, locally sourced produce, listed in the Michelin guide for the quality of the food. Excellent bar food. Gardens immaculate. EV CHARGING point. Plenty of room in the carpark. Jim the owner was an absolute ⭐️

the atmosphere and the history was great! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The off street parking was fabulous and the beds were comfortable. We had a great stay and were really happy with this quirky pub!!

Arrived slightly early (20 mins) but room still not ready,...

Arrived slightly early (20 mins) but room still not ready, waited a further half hour and were told we would have upgrade to larger room however reception experience not great. Room was clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Evening meal poor, menu incorrectly typed leading to confusion and food overcooked and tasteless. Breakfast buffet very tired looking, bacon inedible, mushrooms tough and fried egg solid as opposed to runny. Overall impression hotel being run on a shoestring with young inexperienced staff and no evident management guidance.

Our stay at the Holt Hotel was chosen because of it's location, but what a gem of a hotel. The staff are very friendly, the food is excellent. Lots of free parking. Plenty of choice for Breakfast. All in all a fabulous hotel.

We used this location as it is close to a railway station...

We used this location as it is close to a railway station into Oxford. Parking at the station appeared to be free as we could not find a pay machine. We also used the Oxford park and ride - it was excellent and very reasonably priced. I also played golf at Kirtlington (about 10 miles away). Great course and a very friendly club.

book evening meal before your stay. We were not able to because of staff shortages so therefore had to travel for evening meal. We would have had it at the hotel if possible as the standard of food for breakfast was great!

The hotel grounds, most facilities, and location were all good - the reason for selecting along with the price. Reservations made via Booking.com, with payment on arrival - for room and breakfast. However, it soon went wrong because breakfast seating (party of 6) was a problem - we were given excuses about too many guests and too few staff - even though they took our money as soon as we arrived. The first two days were embarrassing mainly because of staff attitude (not everyone, thankfully!).

The hotel is not in the village, but on a crossroads about...

The hotel is not in the village, but on a crossroads about half a mile away. The village did not seem to have much to recommend it. The pub was shut when we walked over, but that is not the point, the hotel is in a central area with lots of places to visit around.

A lovely welcoming hotel with plenty of onsite parking. Spacious clean room with garden view. Would have been nice if the seating area wasn’t so overgrown, needed a little TLC. Wedding parties on both nights but this didn’t go too late. Had a beautiful meal in the restaurant, service was excellent, staff very friendly and attentive for our entire stay. Breakfast was lovely and a good selection for all. Overall a lovely stay for our anniversary.

The village of Steeple Aston is picture postcode beautiful and only a short drive from the main road. Oxford Parkway park and ride is a short drive as is Blenheim Palace. The village is quiet and peaceful. The cottage has parking for two cars and a small garden with outdoor seating. The bedrooms are a good size and the beds are comfy. Plenty of towels provided. There is a well stocked shop a very short distance from the cottage.

Lovley room, very nice food, chef and staff were amazing at accomodating allergy for a celiac friend dining with me. Room was clean and housekeeping staff are doing a great job. Great location for work and rest, hotel gounds are stunning and the garden is a great place to have a cool drink and chat.
