When we arrived and got our room the bed ran away across the room. We went to reception where Chloe tried to give us another room but when she checked it the bed did the same thing so she sorted another room and it was good. We then went out for dinner and when we got back the wife passed comment that she was warm and Chloe gave her a fan to take to the room. The breakfast was very good the area was clean and all the staff were pleasant.Very good place to stay will go again without any problem. Thanks to everyone .

The staff is super friendly, very polite. The breakfast was good. I loved the room, bigger than others that are way more expensive. A plus is the bathroom, big and with a big window. The bed was big as well. I had a great time and I'm sure I'll stay here again when I'll visit the Perthshire and Angus area. I also had the pleasure to taste the delicious Nepalese cuisine in their associated Restaurant. It was amazing

Thought it had closed down. Arrived 2.45pm & not open. Had to walk round hotel & ring bell to let me in. So dark & depressing. Don’t blame the hotel for lack of customers. I’d stayed in Dundee at a wonderful hotel the previous night that was exceptional. Had a spa & pool free to guests. 24 hour reception & lovely decor. Was the same price???

The hotel is in a beautiful location, right beside the river...

The hotel is in a beautiful location, right beside the river and surrounded by woodland..........but very isolated Great if you're traveling on, but remote if you want to spend a few days in Perthshire. That being said, I would go back. Main house is very grand, staff very nice and lounge is very comfy Good, really good breakfast. Dinner, although not taken, seemed a bit pricey

The room smelled very strange.

The room smelled very strange. There was a whoppingly large beetle wandering about in the bed. The staff were pleasant, but frankly, I wasn't happy here. I was sent to the bar to order my food and to have it at a table there. This was quite one of the most unpleasant experiences. There were only men in the bar, and silence dropped bang as soon as I walked in, all seats were taken. I was the only woman in the room. The barman asked me to wait to put in my order although I was the only person standing at the bar at that time. I waited, and waited, and then walked out, said to the admin staff that I would prefer not to eat at all and that I was not prepared to be put through the situation at the bar that clearly was uncomfortable for everyone. The staff then found me a place in the lounge to order some light supper. The food was excellent. But frankly, this whole situation was like something out of a zoo several generations back. And no, I would never go back.

noisy boiler flue attached to front of building, first room offered rejected as insufficient light and too noisy. On a positive note staff happily moved us to quiet accommodation in the riverside block which have good rooms, balcony overlooking the river and lovely view. Another positive was the evening meal which was superb, well cooked and presented, breakfast was a buffet which is not our preference.

We unfortunately stayed only one night at Ballathie House,...

We unfortunately stayed only one night at Ballathie House, but we will never forget this short stay. Our expectations were exceeded in every respect, most notably the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the exceptionally good and superb food. The setting of the hotel and the landscape are just wonderful, there are beautiful forests and nature parks nearby.

This was an outstanding hotel located in beautiful grounds leading to the river. The food was superb and the service was discreet but professional. The hotel prides itself on being like a country house which it definitely achieved but facilities were modern where required. We would definitely stay again if we get a chance

Staff friendly, helpful and very willing to please. Both meals in the bar and breakfasts very good quality and well cooked. Excellent service. The location of the hotel 10 mins from river Tay and Mills in a quiet area was a bonus. Great value for money.

Just a nice, classic hotel, with friendly local staff, clean and spacious rooms, nice bar with a menu to suit most dietary requirements. Best of all, dog friendly with no additional charge, will stay again.
