A beautiful town - lovely architecture, which if that is what you are looking for you will get it in good measure. Small centre which is easy to walk round - lots of excellent restaurants and cafes catering for most tastes plus very nice (though expensive) shops, and some superb charity shops (always a bonus!) Some good concerts at the Stamford Arts Centre, plus picture gallery. Lovely picturesque river side. Great antique shop in St Martins. As it lies somewhat to the eastern side of England the weather tends to be reasonably mild. It must rain but in the many times we have visited I only remember it raining once!

A Very pretty town with plenty of pubs, eating places and chain and independent stores. It is easy to get around the town on foot and a self guided tour is well worth doing. As with any small market town parking is an issue but there are plenty of reasonably priced car parks within walking distance.

I love Stamford.

I love Stamford. I visit often but first time with my girlfriends! Stamford has everything. Good food, pubs, hotels, walks, views, all in walking distance. Little alleys and side streets. Different high street shops. Seems so very friendly and also dog friendly. Parking can be interesting so take time to find a space, but it’s worth the effort to visit!

Stamford is a lovely old market town with some good history,& good shopping, lots of interesting non high street shops. Burghley House is very close & is a great place to visit with lots of history, big & beautiful grounds, good coffee/lunch facilities & great for dogs & children. Lovely town to stay for a couple of days to explore the area.

Stamford is a beautiful Georgian Town, very well kept, lovely traditional hotels, churches and a lovely river flowing through the centre of the town. Burghley House and gardens is well worth a visit. if you want a trip through a period drama setting, Stamford is the place.

A most beautiful place.

A most beautiful place. Delighted that I booked a Stamford Town Guided Tour for our first morning. Beautiful and contrasted churches.. Disappointed by Burghley House: one had to walk a long way to get a full external view and endless heavy baroque not to my taste. Go to Hatfield House instead! Delightful water meadows, well worth the walk. Shortage of places to eat particularly on a Sunday evening. Evidence of a rich cultural life. If I had to downsize or move Stamford would be high on my list of possible locations

The flat is in a really lovely location in Stamford. It lives up to its name, Meadow View, with a beautiful vista at the front. The bedrooms are on the second floor, which means they are nice and quiet (if you don't mind quacking ducks, which we didn't!) Everything seems brand new and the flat was spotlessly clean, as well as being light and spacious. It has a well equipped kitchen and big, comfortable beds. It was easy to find, the checkin instructions worked well and there's plenty of reasonably priced parking nearby.

Booked The George Hotel Stamford for a business stay. I never normally get any feedback from the people I book rooms for. However I did for The George Hotel, Stamford. 'Hotel is perfect. I’ve gone back in time when hospitality was at its finest. And how I was trained. No tea/ coffee facilities in the room. But they delivered me a tray of tea this morning before breakfast.'

Friendly greeting on arrival and shown to room. The hotel building is historic and very attractive. Room was very clean, nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. Hotel in excellent position to explore Stamford. Very good choice at breakfast and served rather than buffet. Breakfast staff very friendly and efficient.

The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room suited us perfectly - comfy, clean and warm. Although it was just a room (but with tea, coffee, biscuits and bottles of water), there are numerous places to get breakfast in Stamford! Would visit Stamford and stay here again.

Great stay and perfect for me as a solo guest whilst being in Stamford for work. Property is in the centre of Stamford and the fact that it has a parking space is a real bonus. Will definitely stay here again.
