The pebble beach is nice.

The pebble beach is nice. The village is nice, but it’s not somewhere that you would visit unless visiting people or going to the beach. There is a post office and a couple of pubs, We had lunch in the Manor, which was nice.

We stayed 2 nights with our dog.

We stayed 2 nights with our dog. We were going to go by train but there was a problem at one of the lines and had to use the bus, so we decided to drive. St Bees is lovely for a walk and the beach. The weather can change suddenly but heat will remain. It is accessible to other areas by train or car. We went through to Whitehaven for a few hours which was lovely

The hotel has a good unstuffy atmosphere in the bar and an excellent outside grassy seating area for eating and drinking. It is a fair walk into the village which has little or no parking, but is quite interesting to wander around, although there are very few facilities such as cafes. There is a lovely sandy beach which one can swim off, although it is necessary to clamber over quite a bit of shingle to get onto the sand and there are not many access points. A cafe and yummy bakehouse up on the car park.

The Seacote Hotel was great, the location was brilliant with good walking even for someone with mobility issues, the immediate area is relaxed and dog friendly. There are good play facilities for children and I imagine itd be a good place for families as well as old dodderers like myself. The bakery/cafe looked great but we didn't get to try it https://www.beachroadbakehouse.co.uk/ My gripe would be paucity of disabled parking bays and no disabled parking at the hotel.

St Bees is a lovely little town with a fantastic beach.

St Bees is a lovely little town with a fantastic beach. It's not too far away from other things. We have been a few times, walked the coastal path to Whitehaven which was lovely and it's an easy drive to other parts of the lake district. A brilliant home base for people who like to be on the go.

St Bees is a lovely small town with meals available from the pubs. I used The Manor. This was great except that I was chasing houseflies off all through my meal. An electric bug zapper, or an auto fly catcher in the bar would have been great. The town is old, full of character, and has narrow streets built long before private motoring. The town is host to the start of the coast to coast walk, created by the lovely walking guru, Wainwright. The importance of this should be recognised by the council, and good signposting installed in the town. I found nothing until I arrived on the seafront and even then there was nothing until I found the board marking the starting point. Access to the seafront was hindered by lengthy and seemingly unnecessary 3-way traffic lights operated by a highways outfit. There was a huge carpark by the beach, but all parking is charged on a pay and display basis.

A clean and comfortable cottage with a well equipped kitchen. Ideal short stay for two people. Great location to explore St Bees and surrounding area. We enjoyed a lovely day on the beach with a cliff top walk. Priory is a must see not only for the architecture but to read the local history. Pubs offered a good food and drink experience. And surrounding countryside offered wonderful walking for example a circular walk around Ennerdale Water.

Really nicely presented room with comfy bed and en suite bathroom. There was a communal fridge available and tea/coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast choices available and the scrambled egg on toast was really good. Jill was a very friendly host. 3 minute drive into St Bees or Egremont for dinner or shops should you need anything.

Our second trip to the lovely St Bees and our first time staying at Little Blue House. A lovely little cottage which was just what we needed. Clean, dog friendly with amazing facilities and an absolutely tremendous view from the kitchen and garden. The perfect place to chill with coffee or a beer. Would highly recommend.
