Everyone says the staff are amazing and I can honestly confirm ... they are! Sally on Reception was really lovely and helpful, I didn't catch his name, but the man who showed us in and served our breakfast was such a gentleman and perfect for his job , so friendly! I must mention my Cosmopolitan Cocktail. The best ever 🍸. One more mention for George. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Again, perfect balance of friendly and professional. The Hall itself is stunning. The dinner was exceptional as was the breakfast. Gardens are beautiful, don't forget to say hello to the donkeys and llamas! Such a fab place for a birthday treat 😍

Shrewsbury is a hidden gem !

Shrewsbury is a hidden gem ! We felt spoilt staying in the heart of the town - leaving our front door and bimbling around the most incredible Tudor building lined streets - Wyle cop particularly has a fabulous mix of shops and if you walk down you can very easily find the river and enjoy a walk along the river and round towards St Chads always being close to the town - perfect for a short jog or just a lovely walk - ideal for little people to ride bicycles as well with a lovely large play park ! Or walk a dog

Shrewsbury is a lovely County town, full of histotric character with many old (and modern) shops, pubs, places to eat, etc. In fine weather the walks along the river, which almost encircles the town, are gorgeous. There is so much to see and do here, particularly through the summer, that you need to do a bit of research before visiting

This was my first visit to Shrewsbury and I'll definitely go back - what a great place, a real gem. Lovely historic centre, a lot of independent shops and coffee shops, a good choice of restaurants and a wonderful museum. There are also a number of very active running clubs - people of all ages running around in organised groups in the evenings - all added to the happy vibe!

It is a very special city with lovely shops , museums and churches to visit. At Christmas time the city is beautifully decorated in the streets and in the shops. It is easy to walk around and my favourite place was the arcade in the main street, which was so colourful and welcoming. We ate at various little cafe's and restaurants, all of which were fine.

Beautiful historic town, good indoor market, lots of places to eat (especially the Yak and Yeti Nepalese restaurant for an amazing curry) and loads of charming old pubs (favourite was the Henry Tudor, ancient wood beamed pub with great beer, cozy booths, good food and a fire). Good base for hiking the nearby Shropshire hills and visiting smaller towns and villages. Could have done a week exploring Shropshire with Shrewsbury as a base. Will be back.

Nice character hotel in the centre of the town, with parking at a moderate price for residents. Something not easy to find in Shrewsbury. Staff pleasant, helpful and professional . Nice big bedroom and a bath in the en suite,a big plus for us. Plenty of cafes and food outlets all around, good selection, if not eating in hotel. Our Son visited on his dads birthday and he was made welcome as well. A very enjoyable stay.

The communication with Steve was excellent. Everything was laid out perfectly. The location was just right, only a 10 minute walk into the town centre. The flat itself was beautiful, far better than any hotel room. We will definitely use it again when we return to Shrewsbury.
