Stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. A big shout out to the staff, as they are the best feature of the hotel. The pools, the spa, the cinema room, comfortable bedding and Sticky Toffee Pudding! The staff at reception and restaurant are very friendly and polite..every single one of them!! Nothing is ever too much for them. We were even offered to use the spa post check out. The rooms are nice and decent size, with comfortable bed and stunning views across the bay. We were lucky with the weather so, spent an entire afternoon at the outdoor pool. The indoor pool and spa area was great too. However, the highlight remains the cinema room, which you can book for a private viewing. The Sticky Toffee Pudding definitely deserves a shout!

We loved the space in the apartment. It was so well organised… easy to get the key and the box outside for shoes a great idea. Oven was super efficient. My granddaughter loved doing the jigsaws. Best bit was the quick access to the beach. Thanks for everything. Thoroughly recommend staying there.

We went in Winter. I imagine it's wonderful in Summer. We enjoyed the Christmas decorations in the local pubs & shops. Loved the views from The Ferry Inn, watching the Stormy seas from a cosy spot. All the places we went to had lovely, attentive & happy staff. Food in Victoria Inn & Winking Prawn was lovely. Locals were very nice & friendly.

Don't think you would want to stay too long in Salcombe in...

Don't think you would want to stay too long in Salcombe in November. Most shops are shut or open for a very limited time - which is fair enough probably. Restaurants and pubs are towards the upper end of the price range, reflecting the values of the kind of people who mainly visit Salcombe.

Wonderful place to visit the views and scenery are amazing.You can catch the local ferries to all the beaches. Some wonderful places to eat and drink inside and outside.These places can be expensive but I understand you are paying for the aumbeiunce.

Very sad that second home owners have taken over much of the accommodation.Locals struggle to find homes. Our cottage was ideally placed near shops bars pubs and restaurants. Parking was not too difficult but impossible if you have any difficulty walking due to steep roads and steps everywhere.

This was our first trip back to Salcombe after many years...

This was our first trip back to Salcombe after many years and not much has changed, it has kept its charm and is still, as I see, not over commercialised. It has a good selection of shops, restaurants and coffee houses. Many of the boat yard areas have been developed, but tastefully, modern and in keeping, bushelled in with some of the original trades and and buildings. The Salcombe Gin Distillery has a modern building with a bar over looking the river and creek where they will serve you your gin of choice, whilst relaxing in the comfortable surroundings or on a stall on the balcony watching the tide rise and fall. They also offer Gin School, where you design, make bottle and drink your own gin, an experience we worth doing on your trip to Salcombe, but it would be wise to pre-book this. I have to say that I didn't find anything negative about our visit, and would highly recommend a stay here

Great, quiet location a short drive from Salcombe town itself. Fantastic access to beautiful coastal walks and to walk down to South Sands Beach (only shame was no dogs allowed over the Summer). Very well kitted out flat and kitchen. Utility room was a bonus. Second bedroom also very nicely furnished and ensuite great. Beach/Sea view from Master bedroom and veranda is very nice and lovely outdoor furniture for alfresco meals/drinks and reading.

The South Sands Hotel and surrounding areas are so beautiful! Some great walks in and around the coast. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful. The restaurant bar areas are so peaceful and relaxing to sit by the fire or out looking over the sea. Our room has everything we need and with beautiful big doors that we were able to have open most of the early evening as the sun set. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

Amazing breakfast choice both standard and continental. All the staff are amazing and a credit to the hotel. Always attentive but friendly and not overpowering. Hotel a bit out of Salcombe but Hotel Shuttle Minibus makes it easier. Shame about high winds when we were there but the beach opposite opens up huge possibilities next time hopefully. On arrival had an upgrade room and enjoyed the complimentary gin and tonic.

Very clean property everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Dog friendly with an enclosed back garden. Near to North Sands beach and the Winking Prawn restaurant. Approximately 20 mins walk to Salcombe.
