A genuine warm welcome: Gill provided chilled water as well as a generous hospitality tray with coffee & tea on arrival. After a day-long journey we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing sit under the rose arch in the beautiful, peaceful garden. Garden Cottage is a characterful charming old house on the outskirts of a rural village and yet only a short distance from the busy A303. No designer chic here, just a cozy home that has clearly been lived in and loved over the generations. The delightful artwork and ceramics tell the story. Our double-aspect ensuite bedroom was lovinly decorated with charming period furniture. The bed was super-comfy and the quiet location made for a restful night's sleep. Our cooked-to-order breakfast was just a treat. We hope to return.

a delightful little secret in a lovely setting the staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly. the food was faultless and caters to all tastes and requirements. the room were clean, warm and comfortable would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Very pretty, picturesque, 'chocolate box' village..thatched...

Very pretty, picturesque, 'chocolate box' village..thatched rooved houses. Pub, shop church all within 2 minutes walking distance of each other. Ideal setting for the wedding we attended. We ate at The George pub. I had ham egg and chips. It was just OK.. not worth the money. My husband had fish and chips. It too was just OK. Not worth the money. The outside seating at the front of The George was lovely in the sunshine. Plenty seating inside and some at the back. Had private carpark. St Peter's Church was a lovely old church in the village where the wedding ceremony was held.

My second visit to the Bourne Valley Inn.

My second visit to the Bourne Valley Inn. Absolutely love the location and the staff are exceptional. The rooms are super comfortable and I couldn't have had a more pleasant stay. Will be back! If you need me to say something negative, wine by the glass is quite pricey

Decor tired and not always welcoming; biggest disappointment was the hotel not being open for three days and cancelling our booking for the first day at 2 days’ notice , as if it’s communication systems had broken down outside the purview of Booking. Com! The staff were very good indeed and most considerate and helpful.

Parking was easy and lots of it - Greeted by a wonderful young man - he was friendly, helpful, showed us to our room and was a great first impression. We ate breakfast in the morning and that was again served by lovely staff and the breakfast was wonderful The hotel is in a pretty village, not busy or noisy so lovely for a quiet stay

Friendliest of the staff, relaxing atmosphere, acceptance of my dogs (no extra charge), able to open the window in the room, wonderful breakfast, a real nice vibe. Great little walk round via the lake instead of the road. The hotel should advertise this walk that takes you to the cricket ground & coffee stop.

The choice for the breakfast was tremendous. Good quality and fast service and on top of that, a wonderful smile 😊. The area around the hotel is just superb rural scenery. Quiet, peaceful. Perfect to unwind.

Beautiful Inn in beautiful village of Saint Mary Bourne. Very helpful staff, nice, fully equiped rooms and good breakfast, we have not stayed for dinner but I bet it would have been great.
