Wonderful medieval village with classical cobbled streets...
Wonderful medieval village with classical cobbled streets and no chain stores. Plenty of coffee shops and art galleries. Always enjoy walking up and down Mermaid Street which was recent location for the BBC's Miss Austen

We have been to Rye many times as our daughter lives nearby . There are many interesting and quirky shops and the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is a lovely walk . We normally stay in a hotel on the River which has its own large Car Park as parking in Rye is a nightmare . On the saturday we went into Rye and drove round and round but there was no parking anywhere .
There are something like 25 different places to eat in Rye .

There is a lot to do around the centre of Rye. Landmarks, beaches, shops and many lovely restaurants, pubs etc. We were lucky enough to get parked at our hotel, The Mermaid Inn, but gather there is plenty of parking close by too.

Lovely town.
Lovely town. Interesting shops and restaurants, good pubs, lots of history and attractive housing. The Mermaid Inn is a must visit. The White House has excellent coffee and breakfasts. We ate at The Union restaurant which has a different unusual menu, but the food wasa first class.
What an absolutely lovely place! The room was immaculate - that bath is exceptional! - with a gorgeous window looking out over Rye and super comfy bed. Tunnnocks in the room and a tea and coffee making facilities! Absolutely delicious restaurant, too - we had breakfast both mornings (exceptional!) and dinner on the first night. Definitely go for a lychee margarita! The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were extremely careful and thoughtful with my nut allergy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rye.
The staff and owners of the Old Borough were very welcoming and friendly. The location is perfect for exploring Rye and we managed to park in the car park opposite which was a bonus. The room was spacious, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We had a fabulous lunch at the hotel. The best crab sandwiches EVER and an ice cold bottle of Chenin Blanc - Perfect. It was a shame it was just to cold and windy to sit out on the terrace watching the world go by. We will definitely be back
The hotel location was very convenient - 10 minutes by car to Rye, in a quiet and very green setting. The decor was warm and pleasant, the staff welcoming and smiling, and the room clean. We spent most of the time in the leisure area with swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and gym.
