This is an ancient pub in the middle of nowhere (magnificant location for hikers) but within a drive of several small towns. The staff could not have been friendlier, and the food (some from the owner's farm) was superb. We stayed over a second night, and would have stayed a third had it been available. It felt like home, with someone else doing the cooking!

We arrived early and were welcomed. The weather was awful - Middleham had had a good downfall of snow overnight, albeit a little early. We enjoyed a drink in the bar area whilst our room was ready. Our room was spotlessly clean, with an excellent view of Middleham Castle. We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the bar where we met Fiona - the proprietor. What a lovely lady. Our meal was excellent - could not be faulted. After a restful night's sleep, we were delighted to see that the snow has disappeared. Breakfast was absolutely scrumptious. It certainly set us up for the rest of today - Sunday 24th. Very nice to see the race horses being exercised. Fiona explained that Middleham is the Newmarket of the North - many riding stables in the area. Another visit is a MUST. Next time we will take our dog with us to meet Fiona!!

We liked everything ... I chose very well. A proper country pub with a real landlord with real character. Lovely staff and very friendly and engaging locals ... not a grunt, a growl, or a glower in sight, which has become the standard greeting across the rest of the UK. BEST Steak n Ale Pie ever - and they're not shy with the portions. HUGE full English breakfast and the best porridge ever .. and I'm Scottish, so I know my porridge. For our future forays into the Dales, we'll just be booking the one base .. and it's here.

Pubs nearby are still 10/15 mins drive- no where to eat after like 8pm…as pubs don’t serve food after this time. Do not go to the kebab shop in Redmire it took 30 mins wait to make and was awful lol. Nice quiet quaint village perfect to get away from city life but not much to do and not many choices of food. ‘Saffron’ the Indian restaurant I was skeptical about but I was actually amazing food and staff!

Quiet, friendly village.

Quiet, friendly village. Good pub, excellent views and ideally situated for a visit to Castle Bolton and surrounding waterfalls and walking trails. Not too far from Catterick, where there are plenty of shops and facilities, and the local villages nearby have a good selection of pubs and restaurants.

The pub was in a brilliant location - a peaceful village with easy access to Leyburn, Middleham and Aysgarth Falls and the surrounding area. Spotlessly clean, the Redmire Inn is both a drinking pub and an eating establishment. A choice of six hand-pulled ales says it all plus a great choice of food at very good prices. The staff were very friendly and there was a real buzz about the place. When in the area we would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Staff (especially Holly) were very attentive and would react positively and quickly to every request; food (breakfast & evening meals) and drinks (hot chocolate, coffee, etc.) were exceptionally good (best hotel hot chocolate I’ve ever had (and I’ve stayed in over 100 hotels worldwide); hotel is set in wonderful scenic surroundings; beer garden is warm (heaters available on timers when the sun goes in) and welcoming (lovely layout and structure).

Redmire Village Pub has an excellent welcoming and friendly staff and atmosphere. Nothing a problem at all. Food is excellent and nobody leaves their dining area hungry.. breakfast..lunch..or dinner. Sunday roast was absolute fabulous.
