I had a really pleasant stay at this property. It’s a lovely bungalow in a very quiet neighborhood, with plenty of parking in the front and a big garden at the back, which was amazing. I checked in a bit late as I was really tired, and the staff were very kind — they even allowed me to check out a little later without any extra charge. The place was very clean and the staff were truly amazing. The building itself is a bit older, not a very modern style, but it has a lot of charm. It’s perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet. I only booked one room for one night, but I noticed that the whole bungalow can accommodate around six people. This makes it a great option for bigger families or groups of friends who want to book the entire place for a few days and enjoy it together. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would love to come back, maybe with friends or family next time. Thank you very much for hosting me in this wonderful bungalow!

The hotel is in a central location, which is good for finding everything but difficult for parking. However, the hotel has a very god free car park at the back; it is a bit complex to find the entrance but the information on the website is clear so it was no problem to find the car park. The breakfast is marvellous! A wide selection of full British and continental breakfast, wide range of jam and fruits and excellent muffin. Plus you can have your breakfast in a nice, elegant room. The staff is very helpful and friendly! Two of our rooms were on the first floor. These were huge with seating possibilities and two tables. The third room was in a separate building on the groundfloor which was very helpful for my elderly mother! The room with windows towards High street and this separate groundfloor room were a bit noisy at the weekend with partying youngsters walking and yelling by. Birds were also a bit loud but it was OK! The building is nice traditional style while the rooms are modern with elegant style. Take a look at the photos at reception showing the old town and building:)

Beautiful spot by one of the Test's streams complete with the ducks. Absolutely lovely for 2 agile people as the short stairs to the bedroom on the mezzanine are very steep. The flat had a small lounge with woodburner and was the same price as the normal bedroom in the usual hotel so great value for the money. The .George pub a short walk from The Den was great too. The food was cooked beautifully and wasn't a bad price for such delights.

I booked this apartment for my guests on 30th November, but...

I booked this apartment for my guests on 30th November, but unfortunately my guest became seriously ill. I requested a cancellation the very next day, well before the check-in date. Despite this, I never received any response from either Booking.com or the property until the 30th November—the original check-in day. Without staying at the property or using the booking in any way, £134.32 was charged to me. This is extremely disappointing, especially considering I have been using Booking.com since 2007 without any issues. I contacted the property directly, and the owner—whom I know personally—clearly stated that Booking.com is responsible for issuing the refund, not him. However, when I contacted Booking.com, I was told that they emailed the property twice requesting for a full refund, but the property never responded. I came to know that the property not having much business and they dont want refund what they got! This experience is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, accountability, and customer support in resolving this matter. I hope this review brings attention to this issue so future customers are not put through the same situation.
