It's quite a hilly town so anyone with walking or breathing issues may find it a bit hard going. Not a big town centre and not a lot of shops but it has everything for day to day living including supermarkets.

I was able to walk to the places I wanted to see.

I was able to walk to the places I wanted to see. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed the views from Cubley Hall as well as Midhopestones. I have decided that I wish to return due to a family connection next year.

Lovely town, has everything you need in walking distance.

Lovely town, has everything you need in walking distance. Locals are all friendly, offering recommendations to attractions and places to eat. If you get a chance, check out the paramount cinema, classic one screen cinema with plenty of seating, an bar open during intermission and affordable tickets!

The staff in arrival were attentive. The breakfast staff looked after us and checked we had everything we needed. We didn’t have dinner the night we arrived because we were shattered but the meals offered were fairly priced . If we visited again we would book an evening meal on our stay.

A good place to stay for visiting local attractions - in our case Canon Hall Farm. The restaurants we ate at during our two night stay served excellent food - Ti amo (Italian) and Cinnamon Spice (Indian)

Penistone is a short drive away and has a Tesco, Coop, and...

Penistone is a short drive away and has a Tesco, Coop, and Spar to do your shopping. There is a fish and chip shop (although closed when we were there) and a really lovely Italian restaurant and takeaway called Ti Amo. I think there is easy access to the Pennine Way although the only time we spent in town was to get food shopping.

The staff were immediately very welcoming and helpful The room was exceptionally clean. Food in the bar was excellent, as in well presented, good value and delicious. The bed was comfortable, and seemed independently sprung, so we did not disturb each other much when moving. The shower was brilliant in a very clean bathroom. Breakfast was very very good, and the overall feel of the hotel was relaxed and a nice place to be, with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside.

We loved the location. We went to Cannon Hall Farm on the Friday and Penistone Agriculture Show on the Saturday. So glad we had the apartment - parking and traffic would have been a nightmare on the Saturday. Lots of shops for essentials. Parking we were lucky - managed to park down Church Street all nights and all day Saturday. And load and unload by the memorial.

Paul and Sophie run a beautiful bed and breakfast. Lyndene is extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The property is located on a quiet road and just a short stroll from the lovely town centre of Penistone. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast which was cooked to order each morning by Paul. We would definitely recommend staying here.

The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was ideally located with a short walk to the shops and cafes of Penistone. The hosts were fantastic and gave really clear instructions for the property. We would definitely stay again!
