The blending of the old buildings with a modern upgrade has been tastefully made. The room was very clean, the large glass doors give light and a view of the castle walls. The staff were friendly, inclusive atmosphere, everyone speaks to each other, dogs welcome. Even the local cat stops customers for a pat. Food was good quality and well presented, varied menu.

Absolutely everything (and Im fussy). beautifully refurbished bar and spotless, comfortable and well appointed accommodation. everything you need and easy parking. delicious food in the bar/restaurant and a great choice of all courses beautifully cooked. very sociable and professional owners and staff and nothing was too much trouble. eg wanting different veg and spuds from those suggested on the menu. Loved the breakfast room with great choice of teas/coffees, cereals and fruit. And of course a fry-up and other options all freshly cooked to your specific requirements. Location was prefect too at the entrance to the valley with many walk options.

Comfortable room, friendly staff, excellent cooked breakfast included. We ate dinner in the pub and it was very good. Great location about a mile from the end of the Northumberland Coast Walk. You can walk there from Cresswell or catch a bus. There is a bus stop outside the pub with a regular service to Newcastle There is a grocery store opposite the pub.

Morpeth is a vibrant place with really good local resources complimented by national chains. Really good to see so many independent retailers. It is a good centre to travel round the larger Newcastle area and the people are just great

A historic and interesting small town - was a staging post on the Great North Road, hence it's closeness to the current A1. Also on East Coast main railway line so easy access. Free disc parking in town car parks and a good range of shops both national brands and local. Lidl and Morrisons supermarkets quite central. Lovely park with paddling pool and playground with old motte and bailey mound still there. Boating on the river in summer. Small castle but is a private residence. Close to Cragside and Wallington National trust properties and beach at Newbiggin. Northumberland Zoo nearby and well worth a visit with children. Could go on but will finish there with a would recommend comment!

FANTASTIC LOCATION IN A COURTYARD AT THE BACK OF THE HIGH STREET WHICH HAS EVERYTHING NEEDED TO FILL A DAY. THERE IS A WONDERFUL PARK NEARBY WITH A BOATING LAKE, PLAY PARK AND LARGE ROUND OUTDOOR PADDLING POOL, WONDERFUL WALKS AND FACILITIES FOR FAMILIES, LOTS OF EATERYS AND PUBS. NOOKS AND CRANNYS TO EXPLORE AS WELL AS A DIVERSE RANGE OF SHOPS WITH THE LONG ESTABLISHED FAMILY DEPARTMENT STORE BUSINESS OF RUTHERFORDS WITH SMASHING TEA ROOM. I WAS PLEASED TO DISCOVER A WONDERFUL LEISURE CENTRE FACILITY NEARBY WITH POOLS, CHILDRENS PLAY AREA, CAFE AND LIBRARY. IT WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A BRILLIANT STAY REGARDLESS

When we were greeted by the welcoming manager, we were given a free upgrade to a quirky but interesting room with a copper bath in the bedroom and a huge wooden horse and angels wings on the walls The ensuite was a great modern if a little small room The hotel is situated in the junction of the high street and the road to Newcastle But the area is served by a number of restaurants and takeaway (we enjoyed Lolo risk the food and friendly staff Morpeth was a pleasant surprise by the river and having many shops and an up-market precinct

What a great house!! So spacious for a family of 6 - 5 adults and a toddler. Really clean throughout. Excellent location right in the middle of Morpeth but also tucked away on the quiet of the river. Our toddler loved the toys in the playroom his toy bag never even made it out of the car. He also loved the garden, such a nice enclosed safe space to spend the evening when it’s warm. Highchair was an unsuspected bonus!
