Luxurious and beautifully decorated throughout with exceptionally comfortable room. Staff were very helpful and had storage for our bike. Were able to adjust evening menu to suit our vegetarian diet and food was excellent.

Such a lovely traditional Scottish town with great little local and varied businesses. A friendly town for dogs and people. Beautiful countryside on the doorstep with some great dog walking areas on the doorstep. We loved it so much we’d like to move there!

Moffat is a good location for exploring the town and surrounding area. Plenty of eating places and wee shops to wander the high street. Walks, cycling, golf and fishing near. Playparks for children. Can get bus to Hamilton or Glasgow or head south. train station nearby goes to Edinburgh. Lots of accommodation options.

It's a pretty country town, once a spa, set in deeply rural Southern Uplands, with good hill-walking a few miles away. There are a variety of shops, mainly local, some touristy. It's a good base for exploring a relatively unfrequented part of Scotland.

We only had chance for a short walk around the town but what we did see looked good, bars, shops restaurants etc. It was easy to walk into Moffat from the guest house and is within easy reach of main roads leading to other towns.

Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of...

Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of England to the Isle of Skye and it was a perfect location. Moffat has a good mix of shops and pubs, we ate at the bull which was very nice. The surrounding country side is dramtic and forms a great back drop.

The breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked in front of you and plenty of it. John is excellent host and we will certainly be back again when we travel to and from family in Scotland. This is one of those places you want to keep to your self and not share with anyone else. Moffat itself is a lovely little town and the parking is free!

A lovely, well presented hotel, located in a pretty road just 5 minutes from the centre of Moffat. Our room was spacious, clean and light, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts were very welcoming, friendly and available to answer any questions we had. We would stay here again.

Young staff team were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hotel restaurant and bar recently refurbished, live music in bar was pleasant without being intrusive. Meals excellent. Car parking to rear of hotel ideal. Hotel central to main street - Moffat is a charming small town.

Great location on the way to Scotland. Beautifully furnished hotel, very friendly staff. The food was exceptional- breakfast and evening meal were wonderful. An added bonus was being able to stay with our dog. Would go out of my way to stay here again.
