The owners we so lovely and friendly, they done everything they could to make our holiday great. The food was exceptional with huge choice of breakfast items and ‘high end’ restaurant quality evening meal options. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable and views wonderful.

The town was quaint and full of history and character, very narrow streets not good for driving. The Pubs (Ship Inn) was excellent including the food if a bit pricey. The restaurants were excellent (Salamander and Polkirk One )Not cheap but good value for money. Very hilly trying to get out of town centre if you're old or athsmatic.Don't book a hotel up Polkirk Hill it's very steep.

Lovely little village and well worth a visit!
Lovely little village and well worth a visit! It has several really good pubs and restaurants. We’ve only ever been in October but I’m sure it would be lovely during the summer! Driving through the village if you need to get to accommodation up the hill can sometimes be a challenge. Just take it slow and not be in a hurry!

Small fishing port with hourly cruise options and fishing charters.
Various gifts shops, clothes shops, restaurants, cafes, etc.
Access is via narrow roads but there is a lot of parking.
Restaurants are mainly mid and high end with main courses roughly £15.00 upwards. Plenty of fish and chips and burgers, sandwich and pasty shops.
Plenty of great views from harbor and surrounding countryside.

Picturesque harbour village, plenty of places to eat out if you book early, the Salamander was our favourite. Locals are friendly and welcoming. Lovely to walk around very narrow streets. Brilliant little coves and beaches nearby, along coastal path walks.
This place is an absolute gem with fantastic views over the harbour! The host is delightful, nothing is any trouble. The room is beautifully decorated, quiet and comfortable. The cleanliness is near clinical, in the nicest possible way! There are lots of good quality, tasty choices for breakfast cooked to order. Premium tea, coffee and delicious biscuits are provided in the room. It's up a steep (but short) hill. Isn't everything in Cornwall?
Beware of the beams which are a little low in places! My husband made me add that!
Lower Barns is a gem! A lovely setting carefully curated by two wonderful hosts, Janie and Mike. I stayed after walking 7 days on the South West Coast Path and it was a magical spot to relax and absorb the unique beauty of Cornwall.
The room was cozy, vibrant and well accomodated. Loved the giant tub & comfy bed! Breakfast was delicious and the beautiful, unique grounds made for good wandering. Thanks for a wonderful stay -wish I could have stayed longer!!
The whole property was delightful. The range of spaces to sit, use and enjoy were really well balanced - there were even books and games to loan. Breakfasts were superb and Caroline is a master of the hollandaise sauce! Both Mike and Caroline were really open and welcoming hosts and had great tips for the local area - even how to master the hill into and out of the village!
The views were amazing. From the bed and the balcony you could see the beautiful harbour. This was the reason we booked to stay here. Breakfast was great. Lots of choices and decent portions. The host was very friendly. The hotel felt covid safe and was very clean. A short walk into the town and to the nearest beach. Handy parking space. Excellent value for money too.
The home is a 300 yr old mill house located on a narrow lane in Cornwall, close to Truro and St Austell. The property has been fully upgraded to modern standards and reflects the pursuit of quality by the owners, Denise and Vic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unique and beautiful home. Denise and Vic are talented inn keepers and a real joy to get to know.
Loved the location, beautiful view from the room, balcony and breakfast room and only a 5 minute walk into Mevagissey. The breakfast was delicious with lovely fresh locally produced ingredients. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the dolphins from afar, there were even binoculars available in the room 😀
Located right in the heart of Mevagissey. Great accomodation with all the necessary facilities provided washer/dryer, dishwasher etc. Beautiful fishing village with some great restaurants and a great base to explore surrounding part of Cornwall. Loved our stay and would definitely return to The Backlet in future.
The location was great, close to all amenities after a small walk. The accommodation was spot on, clean and functional. Parking was available with good signage to the site. Breakfast was continental and presented by the owners every morning. The owners are nice and very knowledgeable about the local area.
Perfect location. Right in the heart of Mevagissey. From start to finish everything was perfect. The room was a great size and far exceeded our expectations. The host Fran was amazing, nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Cornwall.
We loved our stay! The hosts were so accommodating and could not have been more helpful. The room was as described and perfect for two adults. The hotel itself was a 5 min walk from Mevagissey centre but still really quiet and peaceful. We would love to go back :)
Very up to date with facilities good quality bed and very well laid out property. Set in the town so no driving around to do,restaurants all in walking distance.
Parking included in the price at a local car park near by which is a nice touch.
Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. Location peaceful and relaxing with a great view of the nearby beach. Love the patio outside our room. Short drive and walking distance from the picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey.
Clean well presented hotel with friendly and helpful owners and staff. It has a nice sun deck with great views across the bay. The breakfast provided, although not traditional cooked, was very nice with lots on choice.
The hotel was only a very short walk from the centre of Mevagissey.
The owners are lovely and made us feel very welcome.
The continental breakfast was very good and the service excellent.
Great location on edge of Mevagissey. Breakfast excellent, freshly cooked to order. Lovely room, all areas very clean. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return!
