Whatley Manor

Nestled within 12 acres of picturesque Wiltshire countryside, this hotel is a stylish venue where you can relax and revive.

Our 5-day stay at Whatley Manor was beyond exceptional. I am hard put to find words to convey how blissful we felt. The enchanting grounds/park/gardens, the hard-to-believe set of buildings that constitute the hotel, the amazingly comfy lounges, bars, restaurants, rooms, not to mention the spa and swimming-pool, and - cherry on a gorgeous pie - the staff. In such a top-notch hotel environment, they all accomplish the amazing feat of being perfect, without… doing too much, if I can put it that way. And the smiles! They put one on your face, too, all day long. Shall I mention the stunning Cotswolds region? The jaw-dropping honey-coloured 17th-century villages. Well, if heaven had a specific address, that could be it.

The village is absolutely charming with lots of lovely walks and pubs, coffee houses and restaurants to visit. The people are extremely friendly and welcoming. It’s a good spot from which to discover other Cotswolds venues further afield. The village is a good place to visit in all seasons. My favourite bar for a drink is Tyger In The Old Bell. I love the little shops on the High Street and the Abbey is a must if you visit Malmesbury.

Malmesbury is a very attractive town with many of the old buildings retained and it has a lot of character. There are nice walks in and around the town and one can see evidence of its history. The small museum is good and supplements the town

Excellent town with restaurants/pub’s etc and Sunday market/festival, great base for exploring the Cotswolds. Didn’t really know anything about the place before going, rich in history, the Abbey was well worth the visit. Special shoutout to The Greyhound, recently converted pub to Brassiere, food and service/staff highly recommended

The cottage is very cute, the location was great short drive into Bath Which was our main purpose. Sadly I left 2 shirts in the wardrobe but the owner's posted them on to our address at the end of July thanks for going the extra mile. The history of Malmesbury was an added bonus the pizza place nearby was great. If I return to the UK I will certainly book this again.

An old market town with all the necessary features for a short stay. Interesting historic buildings and a definite 'country town' feel. A good centre to explore the southern Cotswolds - probably less well known than the busier Northern sector

This was our first visit to Malmesbury and we fell in love with it. It has some excellent shops and some fantastic places to eat. The beer at the Whole Hog was great and the food really good, the staff are very friendly and attentive. It has a great small market on a Friday. The Abbey and museum are well worth a visit and the people are so friendly and helpful. It was a great location to travel from to discover the surrounding areas.

All the little touches, a glass of prosecco on arrival and being taken to your room. Good quality tea and coffee and lovely toiletries with bath robes and slippers. A booklet about the history of the hotel and a handwritten note welcoming you to the room. We had the chef's menu with wine and food was great (small portions) lovely waitress who explained everything. Breakfast was also great. A great place for that special occasion.
