The location is unbeatable and the photos represent the views exactly. From the patio you see the Isle of Skye, Egg and Rum. It is magnificent. The staff of this hotel is great, and made our stay so good. We were there while a storm raged over the land and there was an electricity cut in the whole area. The staff helped us around, and showed so much flexibility with the length of our stay. Also very helpful with information about the ferry, train, etc. Best value for money.

The staff was very helpful and diligent during my whole stay. The bar a restaurant were right downstairs and they both were cozy and and a great experience. The food and service were exceptional and they had a great variety of wine, beer, and liquor to choose from. I came for a relaxing trip so I could unwind and write, and I was able to do just that. Not to mention it was right across the street from the train station so transportation was a breeze. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

The property was absolutely great, a magical cabin fully stocked with everything you could need and more! Coffee, teas, movies… and many more. We had our dog with us and it was great to have a separated space for us to sleep upstairs. Overall myself and my partner throughout enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again soon!

Great place to take a break when you are visiting the Highlands and Islands! Mallaig is a port town and a gateway to do many other places. The accommodation at An Bothan was excellent. Home from home with so many special touches from the owners to make the stay even more comfortable. We would highly recommend it if you are looking for a short or longer stay in Mallaig.

Small town with some good restaurants but limited entertainment. Worth a couple of nights or longer if using it as a base. Try The Bakehouse and The Crab and Creel. Don't park for more than an hour outside the Co-Op

Mallaig is a small port town with an interesting history.

Mallaig is a small port town with an interesting history. The Mallaig Historical Centre is worth a visit to learn about the story and people behind the town. There are quite a few fabulous cafes and restaurants specialising in fresh fish and home baking. There is a lot of Harry Potter tourists due to the train and viaduct, but this does not distract too much from the enjoyment of a visit.

Mallaig is an active, attractive, village with trains from Fort William and ferries out to the islands and other peninsulas. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants with hotels and B&Bs. The location is stunning with gorgeous views of the beasutiful coast and islands. Lots to do and a fun, friendly place to stay.

We had a wee day in the town with gift shops etc, a trip to Skye the next but would have liked to take more boat trip if we'd been there longer. The shops and things closed quite early and as we had kids with us not sure if there's any "nightlife"

I felt that everyone we came across was out to give us a wonderful holiday. The Bake house is a must . Their Portuguese tarts and pecan/ maple buns are delicious. Coffee 5* The trip to Knydart from Mallaig was enhanced by the crew . They were so knowledgable about the area and shared it with us.

Huge spotlessly clean room with spacious ensuite. Very comfortable bed. Plenty of Tea, coffee and hot chocolate available and a great touch of providing cereal, juice and pastries for the morning. Craig was there to meet us when we arrived on the late ferry. Given that Mallaig can charge a premium for rooms as there is limited supply this was good value for money compared to some others. I would book again if I am in the area.
