UNMATCHED view and location. Host was friendly and communicative and provided delicious croissants for breakfast throughout the stay. Kitchen was well-stocked as needed and space was very comfortable. Would return in a heartbeat and even stay for a longer visit!

The room made perfect use of the available space, including tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. The items chosen for the complimentary Continental breakfast were high quality and a nice added touch. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had good water pressure and lots of hot water. We ate in the restaurant one night and the dinner was superb. The hotel is also steps from the train station and ferry docks, which made it easy to catch our scheduled transportation. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

The property was absolutely great, a magical cabin fully stocked with everything you could need and more! Coffee, teas, movies… and many more. We had our dog with us and it was great to have a separated space for us to sleep upstairs. Overall myself and my partner throughout enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again soon!

Great place to take a break when you are visiting the Highlands and Islands! Mallaig is a port town and a gateway to do many other places. The accommodation at An Bothan was excellent. Home from home with so many special touches from the owners to make the stay even more comfortable. We would highly recommend it if you are looking for a short or longer stay in Mallaig.

Small town with some good restaurants but limited entertainment. Worth a couple of nights or longer if using it as a base. Try The Bakehouse and The Crab and Creel. Don't park for more than an hour outside the Co-Op

Mallaig is a small port town with an interesting history. The Mallaig Historical Centre is worth a visit to learn about the story and people behind the town. There are quite a few fabulous cafes and restaurants specialising in fresh fish and home baking. There is a lot of Harry Potter tourists due to the train and viaduct, but this does not distract too much from the enjoyment of a visit.

Mallaig is an active, attractive, village with trains from Fort William and ferries out to the islands and other peninsulas. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants with hotels and B&Bs. We had a wee day in the town with gift shops etc, a trip to Skye the next but would have liked to take more boat trip if we'd been there longer. The shops and things closed quite early and as we had kids with us not sure if there's any "nightlife"

I felt that everyone we came across was out to give us a wonderful holiday. The Bake house is a must . Their Portuguese tarts and pecan/ maple buns are delicious. Coffee 5* The trip to Knydart from Mallaig was enhanced by the crew . They were so knowledgable about the area and shared it with us.
