Head towards the riverside and Boulter's Lock for a more relaxing and pleasurable visit, try Bray, Cliveden or Cookham for more of a village experience. The town centre is very cookie-cutter generic and not inspirational or individual in any shape or form.

Since Wilson Lodge, Maidenhead Pulled a Bait and Switch, we wound up going back towards the Airport for much more honest accommodations, what little we saw of Maidenhead, we are sorry we missed it, seems to be a nice little town,

Maidenhead is a calm and pleasant riverside town, ideal for a peaceful day trip. Enjoy walks along the Thames, visit nearby Cliveden House, or explore the charming village of Cookham. The town centre is a bit dated, but the riverside spots and countryside views make up for it. Easily accessible from London via the Elizabeth Line — perfect for a quiet escape from the city.

Maidenhead it’s self was not really to our taste however the location itself and the riverside and next village Taplow was lovely. Close to train stations at Maidenhead and taplow for getting to London which was the purpose of our trip and found travel straightforward. Had some lovely meals by the river. The feathers pub in taplow and toby carvery on the Sunday hit the spot after a day of sightseeing.

I love the refurbished downstairs of the hotel. It looks cleaner and fresher than it did. We got married there several years ago before the new ownership took over. It has a more premium feel now and the decor is carefully thought through. The attention to detail like the tulip design in the carpet and even the shortbread is a nice touch. The Tulip tree just outside is reputably the largest in England (I think) and was planted by Queen Elizabeth I. The breakfast was good and the service was friendly and professional.

Was ideal for work stay as more like a motel with own entrance to room. Yes the upstairs rooms have steep steps but rooms are comfy and en-suite as described. (Suggest you ask for a room on ground floor in special requests if the stairs would bother you) Did not have food even though it looked excellent as am on a very strict budget. Overall very good value for money mid-week in Maidenhead.

Lovely peaceful, comfortable room, nice view onto the River from room and balcony. We stayed in the Lodge that was just across from the main building. Main building had lovely bar and restaurant looking out onto river, but being renovated in other areas. Brilliant location, close to town centre and Boulters Lock so plenty of choices for dining.
