Everything a perfect. As soon as I crosed threshold of the hostel I felt welcome in this place. The staff is very, very friendly, so real friendly. Well equipped kitchen, when you can prepare some breakfast or something more for dinner. The kitchen, thanks to its size, is also conducive for conversation. Free coffee and tee for a good start and as a dose of energy after arriving, this is usually this one little thing which you need after arrive, especially after the long journey. Rooms are enought specious, showers are little, but enought and clean. If you are a women you can find there everything what you need in need, that's nice! There is some special mood there, the people who run it, by taking care of small details, create a wonderful place, you have everything you need when traveling and everything that will also allow you to relax and unwind. Thank you for this place like it is!

There seems to be a lot of closed up cafes /business...

There seems to be a lot of closed up cafes /business premises in Kyleakin. Its a sprawling sort of place, maybe we hit it at a bad time. I would not have been too keen to stay there but for our cottage which was fabulous and if we had been staying longer it would have been a lovely house to base oneself in for trips to the rest of the island.

We come to Skye at least once a year as we have friends there. It was our first stay in Kyleakin and we found it to be very pleasant and quiet and also very handy to be so very near to Kyle, just over the bridge, in case you have forgotten something you need to buy. We will stay at Kyleakin again to explore more of the south part of Skye.

Location good and convenient for our needs.

Location good and convenient for our needs. It is an old hotel, decorated to a fairly high standard. As it was built a long time ago and had wooden floora you could hear peole walking around from above and in the hall outside. This was not enough to wake you up but it was obvious.

we arrived around 3pm on the Thursday, there was a note on...

we arrived around 3pm on the Thursday, there was a note on the door to tell you where to go to pick up keys and that check in wasn't until 4pm. We went to see if there was a chance of checking in early but there was no one there. we went to see if the attatched bar/restaurant was open to get a drink but that didn't open until 4.30pm, we went to another nearby bar where we had a couple of drinks and a lovely chat with the barman. We went back again around 4.10pm and there was still no one there we were about to go out again when a lady appeared, she gave us our room key and slips for breakfast, we went tour room which was in the eaves of the house room was very small and cramped the tea and coffe tray was on a chair below the hangers for your clothes/coats which wasn't ideal. We went into the ajoined bar had a couple of drinks and had a look at the menu

The weather was terrible very high winds and very very wet but that didn't stop us from doing some sight seeing the only thing that the guest house needs a lick of paint inside and outside that would make the building more attractive everything else was fine for us and destination from Bridge to guest house sat nav said second exit but it was the first we would go back again thanks for having us Mr.+ Mrs.whitehouse

Lovely clean, comfortable, well furnished and well equipped 3 bedroomed house in a quiet residential road just 10 minutes walk from local bars and restaurants in Kyleakin . Friendly welcome from host Janette who also gave us some great recommendations for best places to eat. The house made a perfect base for our 4 night stay touring Skye and north-west Scotland. Highly recommended.

Great location for visiting the isle of Skye. Check in was quick and easy and the rooms were nice and warm. Mattresses on the bunk beds were firm which is nice. Free parking is always a bonus. The WiFi is free and simple to connect to. The restaurant next door is cosy and comfortable if a little expensive for the quality of the food.

Relatively comfortable room for a one night stay, lovely view out of the window. Location on Isle of Skye is lovely as it's near the main bridge, however still 30 minutes from main town of Portree.
