This little family run business in the middle of the Highlands was by far my favourite place to stay at on our trip. The location in the middle of nowhere is super cute, if you are looking for a more quiet place instead of a city, this is the one for you. The rooms are absolutely adorable and wonderfully spaceous, and there is a bar, a lounge to hang out, and a breakfast room, where you can get a freshly made proper Scottish Breakfast that we enjoyed a lot! The owner was also super nice, we felt incredibly welcomed and super safe, and there was even some local artists' work on display for you to purchase if you'd like. I definitely recommend staying there!

We had not planned to stay in Beauly during our round-trip of Scotland, but a broken-down motorbike brought us here, as this was the first village from the bike repair shop. And we can only say this was a blessing in disguise, otherwise we would not have discovered this gem of a guesthouse! We enjoyed 5 nights here in a truly spaceous room, with a big bed and very good mattrass, clean bathroom and the most wonderful of hosts. Tara made us feel so welcome and helped us in any way she could to make our stay unforgettable, despite our bike problems. Apart from the bedroom, there is also a shared breakfast room with a fridge & microwave, so you can bring your own breakfast or have a simple dinner here. But there is also a good choice of places to eat in the town centre, only a very short walk away. Tara is actually the owner of a fantastic Deli, where we stopped by every day for a good cup of coffee and delicious home-baked cakes (guests getting a 20% discount). The best thing of Gruinard House, which you don't see often in guesthouses, is the large, cozy living room that is open to share among guests. During our stay, there was another biker couple and it was so wonderful to get to know them, sharing a glass of whisky and delicacies from Tara's shop. After having my motorbike repaired, we felt we were leaving our home-away-from-home. We will definitely be back one day! And especially recommend this place to other bikers: we were allowed to park our motorbikes in the large garage where husband Billy keeps his own bike as well.
