The Iron Bridge is truly magnificent and now to see it...

The Iron Bridge is truly magnificent and now to see it returned to it's original paint colour is marvellous. Be sure to view it at night too, when it is illuminated and makes a fabulous subject for a photo or painting. All of the museums in the area are well worth a visit and with it only costing £3 more to visit them all, rather than just one, it makes it very affordable, particularly for a whole family. Blists Hill Victorian Village is excellent and has developed and improved since my last visit over 10 years ago. Enginuity is recommended, with lots of very interesting and fun "hands on" interactive exhibits for children (and adults!) to enjoy. Finally, a guided tour of the Jackfield Tile Museum by a friendly and knowledgeable guide set the scene for the rest of the visit around the museum. I didn't realise that tiles could be so interesting and full of history - excellent. A trip on the Severn Valley Railway is a must, whether you are a rail enthusiast or not. Beautiful scenery, superbly restored stations and the Engine House Museum and cafe are part of experience. It is like travelling back in time. Much Wenlock is a small but beautiful, historic village with some fabulous old buildings, nice little local shops and cafes and a local museum. For fans of sport, it is amazing to think that the "modern" Olympic Games re-started here some years ago!

The Victorian town at Blists Hill is well worth a visit as is a walk over the iron bridge. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. Ironbridge is best discovered on foot and there are carparks so you can park up and do this.

Our walks with our group leader, so much to see and enjoy the beautiful surrounding area and towns Wish I had more time to visit more of the museums. So much history Loved the shops in Ironbridge, especially pie shop! Lovely evening meals in the White Hart, Taoas bar, Mexican and Thai.

Visited museums with pass plus which saved on parking fees and gave entrance to all Ironbridge museums but a couple of them were very disappointing with little to see. Walk under the bridge and surrounding area was very nice and town was ok, much like other small towns really though. We spent two days and this was enough for us.

Plenty to do, including National Trust sitess, all in close proximity. Nice leafy area, plenty of wooded walks for dogs. Easy to get around, Found it expensive to eat out, but prices everywhere the same and not extensive menus, better if willing to drive to Telford.

Well situated for Ironbridge Museum visits and walks along...

Well situated for Ironbridge Museum visits and walks along river and over the bridge. Lots of coffee shops to sit out and enjoy the sun and refreshment We stayed in B & B so tried different pubs each night - recommend Black Swan. We are an active retired couple but good to see lots of local young people socialising and enjoying themselves.

A really delightful, family owned and run hotel. And that shows -this is no standardised chain. its character and the attention to detail is impressive. The food is excellent (do try the blade of beef), the staff friendly and helpful, the warm, oak panelled interior is full of interest, and the quirkily charming garden a must for a stroll after breakfast. And it is superbly positioned only a few miles from the many attractions of Ironbridge and the Gorge.

Hotel grounds opened up to a beautiful park which led down to the river. A lovely place to sit and relax. Location couldn't have been better for the centre of Ironbridge . A lovely antique centre and cafes just a short stroll through the park too. I would recommend a stay here . The breakfast was excellent and a pleasant place to sit with views over the garden and park.

Room was good - comfortable, warm, quiet. Location was excellent as it was near the IronBridge and the museums. The bathroom was OK, and the water was hot. There was car parking available at an adjacent pub in the same ownership. The full English breakfast was good.
