Where do I start? My sister and I booked a one-night stay at Ness Walk, and we loved every second of it. The staff were extremely friendly and nice and also very helpful. The room is spacious, the windows are huge, and the view is serene. It was exceptionally clean, and the bed was so comfortable. We ordered room service twice; we ordered dinner from the all-day menu I believe, and it was really good. My sister had the burger, which she loved, and I really enjoyed the lentil soup. We ordered breakfast the next morning, and it was just as good. The eggs benedict, pastries, toast and the bowl of fruits were really good. Eating in the room with the view was actually relaxing. The hotel is a nice distance from the city centre; you can walk along the river ness and experience the view. Overall, I have absolutely no complaints.

FAQs about hotels in Inverness

Gateway to the Highlands and Loch Ness

A jewel with historic buildings and charming streets, Inverness is surrounded by a typical Scottish Highland landscape. It is located 10 km from Loch Ness, along the mouth of the Ness River and the Moray Firth coast. It is regarded as the northernmost city in the United Kingdom, and capital of the Highlands.

Take a walk around the Old Town, visit St Andrew’s Cathedral, and make a stopover in the charming Victorian Market. The Old High St Stephen's Church is the oldest building in town, and has been a religious site since pre-Christian times.

The Inverness Castle overlooks the river and is nowadays the seat of the Sheriff Court. A hotel in Inverness city centre is ideal to enjoy the different cultural and recreational activities in town.

Watch the Atlantic salmon jumping out the river near the Ness Islands, and try to catch a glimpse of the famous monster of Loch Ness. The Cairngorms National Park is 40 km away, and Chanonry Point is the best spot to watch dolphins, just 24 km away.

Inverness hotels include a large offer of small, cosy guest houses, B&B’s, and rural cottages, allowing a closer contact with the nature. Don’t miss the Inverness accommodation deals on Booking.com!

The city itself is beautiful sitting right on the Loch Ness...

The city itself is beautiful sitting right on the Loch Ness with charming, sweeping views of the Loch and castle which looms over the city in all its majesty. A small and quaint city and very enjoyable to walk around, beautiful buildings and locals which made our stay very welcoming. Our favourite locations in and around Inverness had to be Culloden battlefield for its rich and moving history and of-course the castle of Inverness with its panoramic views of the city. Our only gripe is the unfortunate state of cleanliness in the streets after dark, which were littered with trash.

Anywhere in Scotland north of the central belt is so much more polite, less busy and just overall, nicer. Inverness certainly falls into this description. The city centre has a abundance of places to eat and a not too bad selection of shops. Inverness' location is fantastic if you like scenery, it's a cracking base to explore the north of Scotland, the amount of places you can reach within a couple of hours is very definitely a plus point.

Such nice people and such a nice town.

Such nice people and such a nice town. Extremely windy but we arrived from Australia so it was a nice change of weather. A lot of nice cafes and restaurants to offer but even without this the general environment and beauty of the town made it all worth it. The sun came out while we were there and we saw some of the most amazing views.

Travelling by train throughout Scotland and England. Beautiful old hotel with plenty of old world charm. I booked a single room, and the bed was a king single and extremely comfortable. The hotel is the old railway hotel and situated right at the station entrance. Perfect for those travelling by train. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I will stay here next time I am in Inverness. Solo traveller from Australia 🇦🇺 ♥️.

Everything was simply perfect! The house, the views, the nature, the room — it all felt like stepping into a fairytale. As soon as we arrived at Bunchrew House Hotel, we felt harmony, peace, and true relaxation. Breakfasts and dinners were top-notch! The staff was wonderful. Our rating is 10/10!
