More Than Just a London Suburb
Ilford benefits from a train station on the fast line between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. Since Stratford, site of the Olympic Park, is only a few stations away, Ilford rose in international popularity during the build-up to the 2012 Games. However, location isn't all it has going for it.
The Borough of Redbridge is run from its Grade II-listed Victorian town hall, on a pedestrian precinct which includes the Ilford Exchange shopping centre. To the west is another Grade II-listed building: the 12th-century Hospital Chapel of St Mary and St Thomas of Canterbury.
The UK’s only complete mammoth skull was found underneath the high street and is now displayed in London’s Natural History Museum. Redbridge Museum houses more archaeological finds, and the 17th-century Valentines Mansion features a Victorian kitchen and beautiful gardens.
Actually outside of the capital when built, the mansion is now firmly within Greater London and is surrounded by Valentines Park with its boating lake and cricket pitch where Essex County once played.
The diverse cuisine of Ilford’s restaurants reflects its multicultural population, and there are also several good bars and a club near Gants Hill Tube station that is popular with reality TV stars. Nearby Ilford accommodation on Booking.com includes hotels with parking and cheap guest houses.

We stayed for 1 night as we had to go to Central London.

Secured car park available which cost us £6 for 24 hours which we paid upon arrival.
Hotel is very close to Redbridge underground tube station (3mins walks). Depending on where you're going in Central London it's about 45mins by tube incl. line change.
There are a few cafés and shops not far from hotel where you can buy food.
Friendly staff.
Clean room.
Cannot comment on their paid breakfast as we left very early the next day.
Breakfast was nice, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing that let the hotel down was poor maintenance. Our visit was because my wife was having an operation in the city, so we needed somewhere cheap and relatively close to the hospital because of an early start on surgery day. Also, it was a bit noisy overnight on Thursday night, the day my wife had had her operation.
The hotel is clean, nice rooms near Ilford high street. They have recently refurbished so every room looks new. The rooms are mostly ensuite and affo. Ali at the reception is a very nice host. He is helpful and easily approachable. Several restaurants and fast food shops are just 3 min. walk away from the hotel. I really liked the stay. I will visit again with my sister.
Amazing place to stay very spacious perfect location cheaper then a hotel for 5 people have a little issue with the shower came out straight away and fixed it would definitely be staying again now we found our place to stay for our London trip 10/10
The location of the hotel is really good. Located on Ilford high street with lots of shops and the station just a short walk nearby. The room has a good AC system which was fairly easy to navigate and a window. House cleaning was frequent.
