Area is beautiful & have a very relaxing vibe. Location only few minutes walk from the beach. Main bedroom has a lovely view. Comfortable, clean & well maintained. Well equipped. Large lawned area outside for kids to play.

I absolutely love Hope cove and have been several times before. I used to stay in the same building but in a different property and it’s amazing how they have changed the lay out slightly which makes the property space more usable. It is also decorated and presented at a very high standard

It was clean and the beds were good, comfortable and the bedding and towels smelt nice . lots of space and well equipped. Very close to the beach , nice and quiet . check in and out was easy and efficient.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room and food were fantastic. The atmosphere takes you right back to splendid art deco times. It really feels like Poirot would pop in at any moment. As an Agatha Christie fan, I had the time of my life.

The hotel is perfectly situated for the beach.

The hotel is perfectly situated for the beach. Our room looked straight out to the sea. It was comfortable and had everything we needed in it. Even in the winter there were a choice of places to eat. The hotel has its own lovely restaurant and The Cove next door also does great food. We took a walk up the hill to The Cottage hotel for lunch which was equally good though more formal. We will definitely come back again.

Glorious sceneey....hotel was lovely...eity such gloriois views. Food lovely. Fuenidhimgs snd general upkeep snd cleanliness excellent. The only complsint from us was that the tiny shower room with a step, was in a dark corner. We felt it was probably dangerous, wouod probably not meet current plannimg regulations....at lrast a night light in that corner would have made a difference...as it eas we skept eith the curtsins half open so we felt safe to ho to the loo in the midfle of the night!

The Hope and Anchor is a very nice hotel handily placed in this beautiful and well located bolt-hole in South Devon. We had a lovely time walking to Salcombe and Bigbury with chilled evenings enjoying fine food and drink

A beautiful typical Devon cove with tidal beaches, great for traditional family holiday with a couple of pubs/restaurants, however I suspect it gets very busy in high season and although there is a large car park, as with all small south west beaches I would imagine car parking might be an issue when crowded.

Beautiful place with options of where to go nearby, it remains unspoilt and is not commercialised but saying that a coffee shop would be a great addition Our second visit but first stay on a short break , really lovely clam relaxing place, quiet (March) , good food in both pubs , parking nearby , there is really nothing to dislike

Have been many times before and still not used to the very narrow lanes on the drive there. Parking is very limited at the Hope & Anchor and the public parking which although right next door is quite expensive and if you use the machine on site instead of downloading the app, it will rip you off and charge a lot more than the tariff advertised. Lovely setting and lovely old cottages, great coastal paths to walk with tremendous views. Several places to eat though only the hotel to drink.

one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in , in this country, I stay at hotels all over uk regularly, beautiful location, lovely rooms, great staff, fantastic food , rooms all have that extra touch, plug sockets everywhere ha ha, massif tv , WiFi , I’d ok for the area, continental breakfast was best I have ever had at a hotel in this country. can’t big this place up enough. and I slept like a baby.
