Firstly excellent location, adjacent to the Castle itself. Offering all you could need and more. There is a Breakfast room, Pattra’s Restaurant and The Aviation Bar - with a wonderful view. Choice of ‘British’ menu and Thai menu for dinner. If you choose to have dinner, which you should, we would recommend the Thai option. It was delicious! Breakfast was beautifully laid out with extensive choices including cooked options. The rooms are so well appointed absolutely faultless. Tea and coffee making Lovely shower room all high quality toiletries and fixtures and fittings. So many first class personal touches! The beds were so comfortable and the linens top quality.

The site that the cottage is located in feels very exclusive and is beautifully landscaped and maintained. It has everything you need and is an excellent base for exploring Harlech, Porthmadog, Barmouth, Carmarthen and Cricceth to name just a few. Excellent accommodation, including pub with yummy food at Queen’s Hotel right below the castle. Harlech Castle is a gem, lots of fun to explore, awesome view from atop hill. Lovely short walk to the sand dunes — much worth making the time. Train station about 50 metres from Queen’s Hotel, other accommodations also nearby

Shame not many shops in Harlech itself and limited places to eat as didn't serve food every evening. Nice short walk to an expansive sandy beach. Transport needed to reach destinations further away, although train station & buses available to access elsewhere. Llanfair Slate Mines & Harlech Castle definitely worth a visit, plenty of shops in nearby Barmouth too. Plenty of dog friendly beaches too for our furry friends, who tired themselves out every day, especially after walking the 25% & 40% gradient hills up into Harlech itself.

Harlech is a lovely village with all you need for a getaway...

Harlech is a lovely village with all you need for a getaway whether a night or longer. The town people were friendly and accommodating the castle was most interesting and clean with the friendly staff made it easy to get around. The coffee was great also at the castle tea room. Lots of little shops for your needs and souvenirs and braising. Plenty of opportunities for a memorable picture snap.

Castle Cottage Inn provides great accommodation and service. Epecially for those who are interested in medieval castles. It is located right by Harlech Castle (5 minute walking distance). Not to mention it has a spectacular view of the landscape. Includes the beach, golf course and countryside. Also, their are plenty of our pubs/restaurants to eat near by and small independent shops selling all kinds of interesting items.

We did not see very much of the town.

We did not see very much of the town. We did not visit the castle. We could not find any good restaurants in Harlech and so ate at Portmeirion and Portmadog. What we did see of Harlech gave us the impression that the town is a little run down in some areas. We have read that the beach is excellent, and the castle is superb, but we did not have time to visit either.

Great hotel. The current owners have done a lot to turn the place around, have modernized and it is now a lovely place to stay. It has parking but also right next door to the station. The beach is very close by and has just wonderful sands. Our room had a view to the castle and we slept well. Comfy bed and nice shower. Tea and coffee in room. Clean and tidy with adequate space for hanging clothes etc. Corner shop over the road. Nicely cooked breakfast - perfect eggs.

The bungalow is well equipped with a nice private patio. Hosts were great, as was the location - upper Harlech including castle were a few minutes walk, beach a little further but easy for those that are ok with the hill. Booklets provided with info on walking / things to do - plenty of routes in the area (both low level and hill), several of which can be started from the accomodation.
