We have stayed here a number of times and have always had a good experience, this year we needed to cancel one room due to illness and the manager Scott was extremely helpful as were all the staff, thank you. We had evening meal and breakfast in the adjoining pub, which was lovely. We will definitely stay again. Thank you

The space has been renovated very well and it has everything...

The space has been renovated very well and it has everything you could possibly need. It was very nice to have 2 bathrooms which is unusual. It was particularly nice to sit outside on the bench at the front at the end of a very full day and listen to the trains. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided together with, for our stay, wine and flowers. In a busy but relaxing week we walked to Goathland across the woods and back along the rail trail, visited the Ryedale Folk Museum, walked to Glaisdale, climbed Roseberry Topping, been to Staithes and walked along the cliffs to Runswick Bay, visited Rievaulx Abbey and walked around the Hole of Horcum. Several pleasant walks are available form Grosmont wihtout driving anywhere We ate at the Goathland pub for Sunday lunch and the Witching Post in Egton one evening. Both excellent. The surrounding roads are narrow and very hilly on direct routes but main roads are available to most places at the price of a little further distance.

We booked Grosmont House as we were going to Whitby for Goth...

We booked Grosmont House as we were going to Whitby for Goth weekend. Whitby is a short train ride from Grosmont and the railway line is a 5 minute walk away. The North Yorkshire Moors heritage line also runs through Grosmont and Grosmont House is an ideal place to stay, especially the two cottages, located at the bottom of the garden if you're a steam train enthusiast.
