The hotel itself is really nice. The breakfast is really good too if you opt for it, which we did for one day. It was really easy to get around Glasgow even though it's not very central because you can click a button at reception and order a taxi.

FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-Loving and Forward Thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organisations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world class. Not to be missed are the futuristic-looking Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, every taste is catered for.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sport. Scotland’s 2 most iconic football clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national football stadium Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centres cover everything from high street brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you’ve left enough space in your bags!

Glasgow is a beautiful city made all the better by the friendly helpful people. If visiting Glasgow look up the buildings are stunning. unfortunately we could not control the weather which was very wet. Subway allows you to get round the city quickly and easily. We visited the car museum on Clydeside worth a visit.

Walking around Glasgow felt safe, even at night, didn't try any public transit but the Underground seemed reasonable. Good food was easy to find, I enjoyed The Iron Duke for lunch one day and Ardnamurchan was excellent for a fancier dinner. Lots of fun little bars (The Last Bookstore was a favorite) and pubs to be had. Visited the Cathedral complex and the Necropolis, both incredible. I wish I'd had more time to explore some of the greenspace in the city.

We found some nice restaurants - a Turkish one ,an Italian one and The Grahamston in the hotel we were staying at. The Christmas markets were very poor - mostly rides but not many stalls - disappointing. We paid £40 for the hop on hop off bus which was also very disappointing as 4 of the stops were out of action which meant very long walks in unfamiliar areas to find the next pick up,point. The buses themselves were absolutely freezing so no passenger comfort and for the last 5 stops of our tour there was no commentary on the headphones, no info on the rolling display board , no apology and no attempt by the driver to shout out the next stop - remember we were in unfamiliar surroundings. Not good enough!, The streets were quite dirty and the number of cracked, rocking and unstable paving slabs was quite ridiculous. There seemed to be roadworks all over the place and a great number of people sleeping and begging on the streets. I didn’t really enjoy my first visit to Glasgow.

The people were incredibly friendly and always willing to help whenever my friends and I got lost—there was always someone ready to point us in the right direction. We took the sightseeing tour bus, which ended up being the highlight of our stay in Glasgow. From the exceptionally hospitable bus driver to the wonderful places we visited, the entire experience made our time in Glasgow truly memorable.

Only stayed in hotel for 2 nights for Black Keys concert; good location in centre Glasgow and walkable to most sites and attractions, especially city centre shopping. Tool bus from airport and drops in city center, very close walk to hotel. Hotel is comfortable and rooms grand, although didn't use any other facilities or meals there. Bar and restaurant look nice but didn't use them.
