We loved everything about our stay. Wonderful accomodation, clean, warm and friendly, beautifully finished. There was nothing missing. Gillian was so friendly and kind, after a long trip it was lovely to have school a warm welcome. Breakfast was delicious, a perfect way to start the day. We'd recommend it to anyone!!! Janey is an exceptional host. From the very beginning I felt really welcomed. Burnside is a lovely place to stay. My room was very spacious with an extremely comfortable bed, an excellent view overlooking farmland and the Firth of Clyde. The breakfast was sensational. The perfect start to the day. I stayed with my father and brother for The Open in Troon (30 min drive) This accommodation is absolutely top class. Location is the best in the park, overlooked by no one and great views of the sea and Ailsa Craig, near the entrance and beside the swimming pool The lodge itself is stunning. - huge kitchen/living space excellently decorated with all modern comforts and homely feel - great cooking facilities - comfy couch & armchairs - large TV with Amazon Firestick - big dining table - lovely breakfast bar - great storage (which we used for golf clubs) - huge master bedroom with double bed, en-suite with nice shower, ample storage - big twin room with 2 comfy single beds, loads of storage for suitcases and clothes - good size main bathroom with bath/shower and heated towel/clothes rack - lovely outdoor seating beside the lodge and also at the back of the lodge on the decking through sliding doors - great view of the sea and Ailsa Craig Great hosts, Stuart & Caroline were very easy to contact for any questions we had about our stay, very friendly and have the lodge in show room condition - 10/10 stay and perfect base for The Open when in east Scotland and for golfing in general as there are 10+ courses within 30 minutes (we played Belleisle and Girvan while we were over) Top tip - we ate in a place called Souters Inn (about 5 minute drive towards Maybole) and it was excellent. Food and ambience 5*, also Asda is a 5 minute drive the other direction on the edge of Girvan

As a holiday cottage for two people, it's perfect. everything was the right mix of being both modern and clean, whilst maintaining character and atmosphere. There were a lot of little touches that made it feel like a lot of thought and care had gone into every detail. One of the nicest and best prepared self-catering places we've used. Girvan is a great base for walking and cycling and enjoying...

Girvan is a great base for walking and cycling and enjoying the western Galloway coast and countryside - plenty of unspoilt scenery without the crowds you'd find in similar beautiful parts of the UK. Being on the west coast, be prepared for wet and windy weather at certain times of year, but the coastal strip is not often very cold or snow-bound. It is worth visiting other local villages such as Maidens or Ballantrae, or venturing inland to pretty locations like Barr, Dailly, Straiton, or Dalmellington. Nearby are the Carrick hills and Culzean Castle. Girvan is not the resort it probably was 50 years ago. There are many closed businesses and few tourist facilities, and the lack of jobs locally means younger people often leave the town, giving it a slightly tired feel about the main streets. The people are friendly and proud of their location, quite rightly as the scenery is attractive (coastal views, hills and countryside). In recent years, incomers are discovering the great value for money in local property and there are signs they may be revitalising the town with new ventures.

Girvan is a magnificent wee town.

Girvan is a magnificent wee town. It’s a fair bit passed its sell date in terms of shops but the harbour, the sea front, the parks, and the golf course are all still fabulous. There are still a few decent places to eat and one or two decent old pubs too. If you are keen on hillwalking then it’s a great destination too being surrounded immediately by some cracking hills.

I know the area well and Maidens is a beautiful village. The village shop does absolutely everything, the local restaurant "Wildings" is excellent and The Ropes is great for a coffee and just gazing at the view.

Easy parking at the seafront. Fabulous coastline at Girvan.

Easy parking at the seafront. Fabulous coastline at Girvan. Limited shopping but fine for stocking up on general/essential supplies at Asda. Many places of interest to see not too far away. We absolutely loved Culzean Castle. We visited twice in 6 days. The whole area is huge and has something for everyone. A special National Trust place. Definitely worth a visit - or 2. Coastline and coastal walks - amazing. The Vaults Kitchen - Very friendly & great food. Also dog friendly (in the bar area) if needed. Many other good restaurants within a 20 minute drive from Girvan. Not all dog friendly though. We found 2 others out of the recommended list we had, that are very dog friendly. We had great service from brilliant staff and fabulous food too in both. They are: The Greenside - Maybole & The Kirkton Inn - Dalrymple Overall - Girvan was perfect as a base to start from to go and discover locally and beyond around Ayrshire.

Miner's cottage we stayed in was Awsome!

Miner's cottage we stayed in was Awsome! One minute walk to Asda and 5/10 minute walk to beach, not much of a town centre now (bit run down) But that didn't deflect from our thoroughly enjoyable relaxing break, my Pupster absolutely had the best time at the beach, all in all we had a lovely time 😎👍😃

Originally wanted somewhere in Girvan but actually I'm glad there wasn't any availability as we found this gem instead. The setting is lovely, and quieter than I anticipated given it's on the main road. The room and bathroom were clean and well-provisioned. Bed was comfy, shower was hot and powerful. Furnishings very in keeping and gave the place a lovely feel, including the private lounge. The host was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast made a great start to the following morning.

Clean, secluded, cozy. The most beautiful setting. Great hot tub and fire. Although secluded, it was only 10 mins for Girvan, so very handy. Coffee, tea, butter, milk, biscuits, and breakfast was all included. It was the most relaxing, beautiful place.
