Lovely, warm welcome, the kind of which is rarely seen nowadays. Fabulous rooms - spacious, very comfortable, plenty of local, complimentary bits and pieces: shortbread, apple juice, crisps, etc. spotlessly clean! Lovely, historic hotel right near the centre of Hereford. Rooms were adjoining as requested and lovely. We were able to check in early, which considering we were arriving via canoe, mid-trip down the River Wye meant a relaxing shower before having a wonderful dinner! Staff were exceptionally kind, helping us to store our medical supplies for my son and allowing for his needs at the restaurant for dinner. Would return to the Green Dragon every time I was planning to visit Hereford.

Lovely spacious house, only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Hereford. Hosts are lovely and friendly, there was plenty of communication. The kitchen has everything you need. Large bottles of shower gel, shampoo & conditioner are provided. We were able to get the keys from a lockbox on arrival, which was really convenient. It's a nice quiet area with a takeaway (Wing Sing) only down the road. Matt & Cassie provided a folder with all the information you need, for things like heating and bins etc. There were books & games in the dining room also. I highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Hereford.

We loved this cottage so much! It was modern, spotless, well equipped, and located in such a beautiful area. There’s a pub just down the road which is really convenient. The garden is lovely and we loved hearing the sound of the beck whenever we sat outside. There is parking just outside the property which is handy. The beds were super comfy too! Oh and Lia was lovely and left milk for us which we really appreciated. Thanks Lia x

Fownhope and “The Greenman” was a very satisfactory place to stay with easy access and a short pleasant drive to the city centre. I was not able to take advantage of local amenities and activities as I was otherwise engaged attending a course. But I was aware of a number of sporting and leisure activities available within the immediate vicinity, and beautiful surroundings to explore by car or on foot There was a varied menu available although I am not aware whether a children’s menu was available

We stayed for three nights and accomplished what we needed to do. Ideal location to drive to meetings in Hereford and further afield. Food excellent. We both slept very well every night, no noise late at night, very quiet. Relaxing environment. It's a growing village, a lot of development on the outskirts. Couple of small local shops. On the Friday a singer entertained in the Bar area.

This is a great hotel which I could fault very little.

This is a great hotel which I could fault very little. We had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent - dinner by the open fire in the bar! Staff were efficient and pleasant, bedroom was comfortable - bathroom lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay and would certainly stay again when in the area.

Stayed at the Greenman on several occasions and it never disappoints. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are cosy, clean and well appointed. The pubs setting is beautiful and the food is local and fresh. It is also close to some other great local Herefordian hostileries, The Crown and Anchor and The Butchers, both worth a visit. Highly recommend and we will be returning especially as it's such great value for money!

Great location and the pub has lots of character, parking is easy and feels secure. Rooms are quite small, but comfortable and adequate. Food and beer is usually excellent. Staff I’ve found over several visits to be mixed - some are excellent and a few have had a bit of an attitude in terms of making you feel like they are right and you are wrong e.g. I knew I’d paid in advance the room but told ‘no we don’t charge in advance’ … check your booking receipt!

Our stay was due to a visit to The RHS Malvern Show. Although Fownhope is roughly 40-45 ins drive from Malvern the village is pretty with lots of well kept gardens and fairly quiet. Its a good base for exploring the area around Malvern, Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and the Cotswolds. A visit to Stow -On-the -Wold is a must along with Sudeley Castle, Kiftsgate Garden and Tewekesbury Abbey to name just a few places of interest.

The hotel itself was situated in a small and quiet area which was beautiful. It was a really lovely looking and feeling hotel and the staff were great. We had the deluxe double room on the ground floor with the kitchenette and front room area which was amazing. So nice to sit with the family and catch up over a home cooked meal. The whole unit was great. Breakfast on both mornings was lovely and had a nice little selection.

If Fownhope works for you as a location this is a great place to stay. Room was nice, food and beer was great. Staff were superb...reception showed me to my room, rather than just point up the stairs. Barman called me Sir, lady at breakfast made sure I got what I wanted cooked to order etc. Little things maybe - but good old fashioned service ensured I will be back at some point.
