The location was excellent, within comfortable walking distance of the centre of town and the coastal walk. I had an ensuite room which was spacious, well appointed with the necessary coffee and tea etc, and clean. I'm a theatre nurse and a little OCD about cleanliness; the room and hotel satisfied my picky expectations.

It wasn't my first choice (I was catching the channel ferry and I would have preferred to have been in Dover) but what a pleasant surprise. I was travelling with my dog and I was amazed at how dog friendly the town was. I particularly liked the coastal walks and I enjoyed reading the informational plaques around the town. One thing I found so touching was Remembrance Road adorned with the handmade poppies. I was struck by how much effort the council has devoted to highlighting Folkestone's attractions and making them accessible to visitors. I enjoyed just wandering around the town with my dog and appreciating it's history and sights. Folkestone turned out to be a serendipitous experience and I'm glad that I didn't stay in Dover.

Folkestone has reasonable shopping facilities for a small town. It is close to some very beautiful areas of Kent, like the Elham Valley. It has excellent train service on the high speed trains from London Canterbury is about 45 minutes drive away and well worth a visit. If you enjoy walking in scenic countryside Folkestone is surrounded by it.
The town is hilly and getting down to the harbour means negotiating a fairly steep gradient, so might be less enjoyable or more challenging for people with mobility problems. There is a bus service.
There are restaurants, pubs, places to eat out but if you're on a budget there is an Asda, a Sainbury and a Lidl store in the town centre where you can buy food. There is a good bus service to Dover and to Canterbury.
The meals were good but outside events interrupted their flow. For example, Rotary breakfasts and dinners had priority over guest lunches, so we often went elsewhere, rather than wait for them to end. The hotel location on the leas is outstanding for little walks after breakfast or lunch. Folkestone itself offers very few amenities and they are all closed on Sunday. The staff however, was outstanding. I have nothing but praise for their willingness to go the extra mile.
Great location; close to a big supermarket, lovely restaurants, the beach, some good pubs, the centre of Folkestone, the harbour and a great base from which to visit the Kent castles and the RH&DR (lovely miniature railway)The flat is freshly decorated and well furnished. The owner is super helpful and very knowledgable about the best places to eat and to visit......there are lots of both! Free off street parking in front of the flat is very convenient.
Wonderful beachside location, nicely decorated & new facilities, full working kitchen, great views, very spacious flat. Lovely little touches i.e. choice of books, games, intro to area, blankets, cushions. Good amount of cleaning products in kitchen. One of best places we've stayed in Folkestone. To flag there are several flights of stairs and no lift so not one if you're less mobile or elderly who may struggle with getting heavier bags up there.
As I have a mobility scooter we were relocated to a ground floor room. This, for obvious reasons, was not the executive room for which I had paid. Also, we did not get the continental breakfast for which I had paid, at £6 per person per night. So, I reckon we are due a partial refund. I have to say, however, that John was superb and a credit to the hotel. He helped me get my scooter in and out of the hotel, as all entrances had steps.
This is the 3rd time I've stayed in this accommodation in less than a year because I love being in Folkestone and I love this little place. The location is perfect for getting around to other places in Kent, the facilities are like home from home and the rooms are clean and extremely comfortable.
I was worried about the reviews of the hotel and the star rating. But the staff were lovely, the location was Brilliant. Folkestone is lovely would definitely want to visit again. Also they ran entertainment in the evening which was fantastic and a great bonus.
Zoe was a wonderful host. She accommodated our daughter at the last minute, was very helpful, and the. property was gorgeous. We would totally stay there if ever we went back to Folkestone. We just wish we had had more time there. Thank you Zoe.
I always stay at this hotel on my way to England from the continent. It’s ideal for me with my dogs and a car. Always looking forward to a beautiful walk along the coast and a meal in local pub. Special thanks for being dog friendly 🐾❤️
beautiful hotel in great location by the seafront and very handy for the channel tunnel. Lovely large rooms and comfortable beds. The restaurant area was beautiful and luxurious and we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
The hosts are wonderful! I loved my room. I recommend the sausages at breakfast. If the weather is good, have a seat on the terrace and soak up some sun. Will definitely be my first choice of hotel in Folkestone.
Ideal location for the Eurotunnel and a bus stops near the hotel which takes you into Folkestone. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the drinks were reasonable. Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff.
Hotel is OK for one night stay before ferrying to France. breakfast is poor as most UK hotels. plus the usual issues with coffee machine which didn’t work
