We loved walking the extensive grounds and appreciated the size of our room. Our bathroom alone was the size of some hotel rooms. The port tasting was fun. The highlight was the owl and hawk experience, which was beyond fabulous. The place has a great and very accommodating staff.

This old coaching house hotel is wonderful. The location is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dale's. We had the best ever experience, with a free room upgrade for my wife's birthday. Our room was massive , tastefully decorated, with probably the biggest and best bathroom I have seen in a hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean. The Georgian coaching house / pub is so lovely, with old stone floors and open fires. The evening meal was top notch, and the breakfast was superb. The staff were all friendly, and if we were in the area again, we would definitely book the Blue Lion.

I had the most wonderful stay at Gospatric House. From the moment I arrived, Angela and Martin were exceptional hosts – incredibly welcoming, genuinely kind, and wonderfully flexible with my arrival time. They went above and beyond to make me feel at home, and their warmth really made my stay special. The house itself is absolutely beautiful – full of charm, character, and a cosy, quaint atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. My room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully presented. Breakfast was delicious, clearly made with care, and enjoyed in such a peaceful, lovely setting. The village is idyllic, the perfect backdrop for a relaxing break. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I also loved meeting their gorgeous dog, Kirkby, who added an extra touch of joy to the whole experience. Gospatric House is a real gem, and Angela and Martin are truly outstanding hosts. I’d recommend this place wholeheartedly and can’t wait for the chance to return.

Such a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. So accommodating. Great room and sleep and lovely breakfast. Beautiful location, just be advised that you need to book a taxi in advance as there is little phone reception and it is hard to get a taxi last minute.

The Cottage is an old style 2-UP/2DOWN and has been beautifully set up and decorated. It is centrally located in the village and everything is within walking distance. Parking (on the street) was not a problem during our visit in October. It is comfortable and cosy, and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils for those who like to cook their own meals. The washing machine and clothes rack were a blessing. We highly recommend this accommodation and the Butcher Shop next door.

I had the most wonderful stay at Gospatric House. From the moment I arrived, Angela and Martin were exceptional hosts – incredibly welcoming, genuinely kind, and wonderfully flexible with my arrival time. Breakfast was delicious, clearly made with care, and enjoyed in such a peaceful, lovely setting. The village is idyllic, the perfect backdrop for a relaxing break. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I also loved meeting their gorgeous dog, Kirkby, who added an extra touch of joy to the whole experience. Gospatric House is a real gem, and Angela and Martin are truly outstanding hosts. I’d recommend this place wholeheartedly and can’t wait for the chance to return.
