The Smiddy Suite is located in a quiet lane off Ellon’s Main Street, bordering the River Ythan. As such it is convenient to a host of local attractions. The standard of presentation of the Suite is exceptionally high and it is appointed with a superb En-Suite and quality linen, furniture, fixings and fitments. The suite is extremely comfortable, well heated and is delightfully cosy. The hosts are warm, engaging and considerate and their attention to the guests’ needs is flawless. Communication were speedy and helpful. Local attractions include a large seal colony at Newburgh’s beach, Championship golf courses and several excellent restaurants and coffee shops. I look forward to making a return visit as soon as I sensibly can and would highly recommend ‘The Smiddy Suite’ to all discerning holidaymakers.

This is a beautifully renovated property. Lovely public rooms. Excellent , well appointed bedroom. Comfortable super-king bed and fabulous shower. Quality toiletries and nice touch of freshly baked cookies available. . We had both Dinner and breakfast and both were exceptional. Kirsty our host for our stay was charming and very personable. We will be back.

loved our stay at the Arberdeen Arms. We felt so welcome in this hotel and the service was amazing. we would totally recommend to stay here as opposed to Aberdeen city, it has such a great feel to the whole village.

This very nice, quiet town has a castle ruin and river walk...

This very nice, quiet town has a castle ruin and river walk . I would recommend a visit to The Coffee Apothecary on 21 The Square if you are into your coffee and want the and want the best coffee house in the area. Overall, a good place to visit and very friendly people

Slightly biased as it was the town were I was born so I was not a complete stranger to the town. Had only passed through over the past 50 years. It is a nice town, adequate shops and catering options for a short stay. There are several hotels and I imagine they have restaurants and lounge bars, the Station Hotel definitely has. There are several walks around the area - I picked up a leaflet showing these. There is a nice picnic and parking area down by the river Ythan. There is a cycling/walking path along what used to be a railway line which is ideal for getting to some local villages. The bus service from Aberdeen is perfectly adequate and there is also a park and ride scheme and retail park on the outskirts of the town. Ellon is ideally situated for visiting other towns and villages in the area. I was visiting family so did not have much change to sightsee.

A town that has continue to grow over the years both physically and with the amount of amenities needed by locals and travellers alike. A great place to base yourself for exploring the North East of Scotland

I flew to Ellon via Aberdeen for a funeral and did not look...

I flew to Ellon via Aberdeen for a funeral and did not look around Ellon. Because of the lack of flights I had to stay 2 nights at The Buchan and on the second day my room and towels and bed etc were left unattended. I got back to the hotel around 9 pm and everywhere was locked up and no staff found.

ellon and surrounding countryside is a beautiful area of the country we visited pitmedden gardens andalso toured some of the countryside by car. although we ate our meals in hotel we stopped at various places for tea.

The New Inn hotel is a lovely hotel in a great location with friendly, helpful staff, we had a small issue with dinner one night and the staff went out of their way to resolve it. Love that they have a separate vegan menu too, it was so nice to have choices. A great location for exploring the North east.

Great local hotel in town. Staff were really friendly and couldnt do enough to ensure everything was right. Had a delicious meal in the bar area with a couple of drinks. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. Room was comfortable and spacious with an awesome shower.

Amazing wee place, right in the centre of Ellon, river walk on the door step, very cozy and comfortable stay. We visited as part of my partners birthday, host accommodated at my request and hung banners and balloons for our arrival, Avril is a brilliant host.
