Breakfast was excellent. But the real prize was the magnificent, fully lined tweed drapes in the room -- an easily overlooked touch, but such exquisite fabric in a simple, cozy little hotel room, and such a Scottish touch, too! At least one night dnner was Michelin star worthy, and all meals were excellent.

I think this is one may be of the best apartment of Scotland. First, the owner of the apartmant was very kind, and he gave us many small gifts. In the fridge there were orange juices and many delicius foods, for example chocolates, chips and more drinks. It was professonaly equipped and we had ipads and a big TV with extras. I also liked the big space what this beatiful apartman has and the bathroom: there was everything what you just can imagine.

Our hosts were wonderfully helpful In helping us to sort out local buses.The unit is very well equipped and tastefully furnished. There is the ability to prepare your own food and to relax after a long day. It’s close to village amenities yet very quiet.

Broomfield Country House is situated in a beautuful location. The owners are warm and friendly and ensure that you have a perfect stay. Their house is spotlessly clean. The garden bedroom is peaceful and secluded. On arrival, tea and shortbread served in the lovely garden was a welcome treat. The breakfast was amazing with an excellent selection of delicious food served in a cosy dining room complete with log fire. We would highly recommend this property.

Lovely area of The Borders.

Lovely area of The Borders. People were very friendly. the place had plenty of Character. We had some fish and chips from the local chip shop and the fish was really nice. Central for driving to other towns, Kelso, Jedburgh, Selkirk etc.

The hosts were incredible, from producing a meal in the evening after the kitchen was long closed, to upgrading us to a bigger room which became available, at no extra charge. Curt produced a great cooked breakfast and some unusual and tasty american style breakfasts. The evening menu was small but they were happy to produce any requests, we asked for Haggis neaps and tatties, that was no problem and was delicious. They were happy to socialise with their guests and provided some great advice about the local area. Earlston is a small village that is an easy 45min drive from Edinburgh and a great base to explore this lovely and historic area. We would highly recommend a stay at the Red Lion.

Earlston is a lovely village with some interesting history.

Earlston is a lovely village with some interesting history. There are a few nice shops but not many places to eat or stay. I did find a gem of a pub in the Black Bull, and a friendly welcome from Rose & Brian. It is one of those pubs that hasn't changed much in years but has good beer and interesting company.

This is an exceptional stay location, we wish we could have stayed longer as the room and facilities were fab, only exceeded by the hosts who could not have been more helpful and friendly. Of particular note is that the hosts, whilst providing great value down to earth meals also allow guests to use either the fish and chip takeaway 2 doors down or the Chinese 3 doors down and bring meals back to the hotel! How good is that! Breakfast was full English in abundance and included in the room rate. You will not be dissappointed.

Friendly owners, with two friendly dogs. Good breakfast. My room was small, but I had my own bathroom. Everything was very clean and tidy. There was plenty of tea and coffee and biscuits provided in the room. Earlston is a very pleasant town with several scenic vistas to view at a short drive away.

Welcome from Susie and Curt was warm and friendly. The Hotel was ideally situated for the places we wanted to visit. Breakfast was awesome - lots of choice ensuring a great start to the day. We both felt at home straight away. We shall return.

The B&B was easy to find on the main road through Earlston but the road wasn't noisy. Excellent breakfast choices even for us vegetarians. Nicely cooked and presented.
