I only stayed one night, didn't see alot of the surrounding area due to time of arrival and my departure in the morning. It seemed to be a fairly quiet but, I think we were on the outskirts of Dudley. The pub was a short walk, staff and locals were friendly. Food was very good and reasonable. I had the carvery and a pint of lager which, was cheaper than the pizza I had the previous night. Not in Dudley.

We visited the Black Country living museum and really enjoyed it, the staff were really friendly and helpful it’s a great day out for all ages . We had a pleasant walk along the waterfront in the evening where there is a good selection of places to eat

We went to the Black Country Museum and the Canal Centre.

We went to the Black Country Museum and the Canal Centre. We attempted to go last year, but the weather let us down. If you have any interest in our industrial past then it is quite exceptional. It is a 7 hour drive for us to visit, so we can’t do it every week, but I suspect we will be back again next year. In the Museum, I would recommend the fish and chips, and we have to come back again, because they had run out of the black vanilla ice cream the day we visited! As for the Canal centre, we had no idea, it was spectacular and interesting. Both places were also well organised for disabled access.

Very interesting area of the British isles, rich in industrial history and heavy Manfacturing I've heard it said the Birmingham has more canals than Venice. The industrial powerhouse of the country. The Black country living museum is a must see, a rich insight into times past in and around Dudley. And of course, Lenny Henrey is from there, another national treasure.

Lovely friendly people and several great attractions.

Lovely friendly people and several great attractions. Great walks around canals and small nature reserves but rather dead at night. There are pubs of course but little in the way of restaurants. Even some pubs that said they did food didn't. Has the feeling of being a little run down but the Black Country Living Museum is excellent. Wanted to visit the castle but didn't as you had to buy a joint ticket with the zoo and simply didn't have enough time to get the value out of a rather large ticket price.

Most large towns across the country lie to you, they tell you how good they are when in reality they are ****holes. Dudley cuts out the middle man with it's honesty. It tells you how **** it is in the first place and I respect that. It's much nicer than Wolverhampton or Walsall.

We chose this hotel as it was close to The Black Country Museum and the Dudley Canal and Caverns attraction. It was perfect - within 15 minutes walking distance. It had great parking, that was free during the weekend we were there. Breakfast was buffet style, with lots of choice and the food was hot. There were lots of chain restaurants nearby, as well as a cinema and bowling, so plenty to do in the evenings. It was spotlessly clean, abd the staff were very friendly. Download the app and you get discounts on food and drink, which was great!

The location was very central and we were about a 10 minute walk away from Dudley Zoo and Castle. We travelled by train and caught the bus from town to Dudley Port Station home. You are not greeted by anyone as everything from the front door to the blocks and your room are all coded so you don't see anyone and you don't have any keys. There is a small area with kettle, toaster, cupboard and sink. Adequate shower room and toilet. Small dressing table, mirror and 2 chairs and a double sized bed. Good Vale for money
