Paul and Mark are really good managers who' understand customer's requirements. Their Sherriff is the best cooker who's services is upmarket. Besides making good dishes he goes an extra mile changing dishes according to the customer request. Thanks for the mushroom soup. Their cleaners always maintain a clean environment more than my expectations. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Have stayed in Apartment 1 twice now and enjoyed both stays. The apartment is spacious and decorated really cool. The beds are comfy, lots of storage space and room to move around. The staff are also very good, efficient and helpful. The free parking spot is a very good bonus that not many places in the centre offer. The location is perfect and within close walking distance to everything.

FAQs about hotels in Chester

A Walk Through History

Featuring half-timbered buildings, almost complete city walls and a wealth of Roman heritage, beautiful Chester sits by the border with Wales.

The southernmost gate of the walls overlooks the River Dee, and the road leading north is one of 4 in the city to follow the original Roman roads. To the east, the Roman Gardens include a reconstructed underfloor heating system.

Nearby Grosvenor Park has remains of a stone Roman amphitheatre, thought to have been built on the world’s largest wooden amphitheatre at the time. Over the river in the suburb of Handbridge is a 2nd-century shrine to Minerva, and an informative display in the Grosvenor Museum provides the background to all this heritage.

In the west is Chester Racecourse and nearby are the medieval castle remains. More medieval buildings line the cobbled city centre streets. Some of these are The Rows, black-and-white timbered buildings housing 2 levels of shops. Other shopping options are the indoor market by the cathedral, and the Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village in Ellesmere Port to the north. The road out there passes Chester Zoo, one of the UK’s best zoos.

Booking.com’s range of Chester accommodation includes hotels with swimming pools, guest houses by the train station and B&Bs with parking near Chester Airport.

I liked the hydro pool experience and the message.

I liked the hydro pool experience and the message. I did not like the fact that you can not communicate what you want to the housekeepers because she did not speak a word of English. That was frustrating. The room had a bad smell when we got in and we wanted her to spray the room with air freshener and it took over 30 minutes to communicate that to her. That was very frustrating.

beautiful Chester, weve always loved it but sad to see despite 100s thousands of visitors this weekend could not find any public toilets but chester council have managed to provide a diverse unisex toilet. Shame on them for making you walk all over town searching then ending up having to buy drinks in a pub so you can use the facilities

Chester is a historical, eating-drinking, shopping delight.

Chester is a historical, eating-drinking, shopping delight. The mainly pedestrianised centre means everything is walk-able and the obvious work done to preserve the history while encouraging trade has been done brilliantly. For example... the Market Hall is a clean, airy, cornucopia of food, interest and hospitality.

Chester seems good to explore not just in summer but around Christmas too with a very decent Christmas Market and illuminations. You can walk round the old city wall and explore the "Rows" just above the streets. Plenty of old and varied buildings including the cathedral all within a walkable area. We came by train and the station is very handy for the city centre.

We LOVE Chester.

We LOVE Chester. The shops, the people, the architecture is wonderful. We live in Bournemouth and the high street has lost itself. It’s now just full of coffee shops and derelict buildings. Chester has such life about it. Such a great selection of shops, and we love all the charity shops too! We walk in, but driving in and parking is super easy. There are so many great places to eat too We visited the zoo on our last day and thought wed be done in a couple of hours, but stayed until it shut. So mix to see!

The garden was very tranquil and the location to Chester city centre ,the room was a twin room on first floor no lift so that might be an issue for the less mobile but a lovely quiet location breakfast was fresh and a buffet would of preferred coffee and tea being served to you rather than the drinks being in flask type dispensers which was not hot but staff did replenish when asked just not what you expect of this type of hotel everyone wants a fresh hot tea and coffee staff very friendly and welcoming

The hotel is located next to Chester Station and a short walk ( mostly along the canal towpath) from the city centre. The Lobby is very impressive, and our room was clean, and the decor seemed fresh. The staff were friendly but professional, especially those in the restaurant. There were some negatives to the hotel, but on the whole they were outweighed by the positives for us.

Overall, the Chester Grosvenor met my expectations; friendly staff, superb food, good sized rooms and spa facilties too. It's central location makes it easy to explore Chester's famous Rows and roman ruins, on foot. It also has car parking facilities, which is a bonus for a city centre hotel. Will definitely return.
