A luxurious, peaceful retreat. If I lived in this country I would come once a year. Great hosts, comfortable, spacious and luxurious room with a couch to curl up on and read. The countryside is lovely and even though it's a little in middle of nowhere it's also in the centre of everywhere. A short drive to lovely villages, palaces, castles and state homes. Elton house and garden is 'must see'. Delicious breakfast and a guest country kitchen with dining and lounging places, books, tv. Facilities to microwave food if eating in and a fridge. Beautiful garden, walks, views of fields and if you enjoy cycling bring your bike. Simon and Linda were friendly and there if you needed them but with my own entrance I could come and go as I pleased. One end of the house is solely for guests.

The atmosphere delivered by sleeping in a refurbished 17th century style ex coaching station is just amazing. Old stone walls, wooden floors and ceilings and plenty of live fireplaces do make you travel in time. However, this hotel is offering everything you need - top facilities and a very soft bed to take a good nights sleep. I also enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the same place - a 11 out of ten rating. Good food, friendly and caring staff - that all made me feel at home far away from my home! Good Job!

The room was spacious and very clean. Hotel was very modern and quiet with an excellent day spa and swimming pool. No view from our room but this didn't matter at all as the bar and public area have lovely views over the lake and fountains.

The hotel was in a perfect location, and my whole experience of staying there was exceptional. Everyone was so hospitable, from arranging an early check-in to chatting about the local area and giving advice on travel (it was extremely icy conditions, and they advised where to avoid driving). The hotel was spotless, quiet, and my room was spacious and with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.
