Castleton is lovely at anytime of year to visit but especially magical at Christmas when they turn the lights on in mid November and the village is so picturesque well worth a visit so much to see and can easily reach so many other places from there too even if you don't drive has a regular bus service which serves other villages too.You would never be short of getting a place to stay either as there are plenty of pubs for bed and breakfast even cosy cottages to rent too.

Castleton is scenic and beautiful.

Castleton is scenic and beautiful. Location is slightly remote if you don’t have a car but has a couple of local shops to get essentials. Pubs and restaurants are lovely, slightly overpriced but I imagine that’s because then running costs are high. We stayed two nights, we didn’t go hiking and found there was limited things to do. We visited the caves which were good!

Castleton is a little gem of a place.

Castleton is a little gem of a place. It's kept its character, with little alleyways between stone cottages and a brook running through with plenty of ducks for kids to feed. It has a Norman castle (hence the town's name) and four very different caves/caverns/mines depending who you talk to. It also has stunning scenery and walks. Week days are obviously better than weekends, when it can be busy. There are a few cafes as you'd expect and local shops. There are 5-6 great pubs all within a 5 minute walk, but early evenings are mainly aimed at diners so go after 7.00pm if you fancy a great pub crawl. My favourite time is winter, with snow on the ground and log fires in the pubs.

Castleton is a beautiful village set in the Peak District...

Castleton is a beautiful village set in the Peak District and in the the South Pennines. There is an ample car park but does get busy so get in early as you can walk to most places of interest from here. Right opposite is the Three Roofs cafe which does provides a great menu including a fantastic breakfast. Castleton is a great central location for day trips out such as Sheffield, Manchester, Bakewell, Chatsworth and Matlock but you need to book in advance especially if it’s for Christmas and you have children; allow plenty of time for finding parking spaces!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It’s a new hotel so the interior is really clean and fresh. It has a modern decor throughout and the rooms are well equipped they even have a coffee machine in the room. The bed was really comfy and I had a lovely nights sleep. It is self check in when you arrive but there is a staff member on hand if you have any difficulties. The hotel is a short drive to Castleton and Hope

The room was fantastic. Lovely large bed. Enjoyed the extras ie mini fridge with water and wine. Had a brilliant evening meal and breakfast. Superbly cooked and so much I could not eat it The next time we visit Castleton there is only one hotel that we will stay in and that is YOURS. We enjoyed every moment of our stay with you.
