very friendly, full of good humour, gave good advice of places to eat and drink, could not fault it. 10 mins to town walking, went out of their way to accommodate us, putting extra chair outside just very good value for what you get, paid bit extra for a great breakfast but you could walk into town or go without that’s what was good about it

First and foremost the grounds and hotel itself is fantastic. The staff are amazing, so pleasant, happy and very accommodating.. We were staying here to attend a family funeral locally and didn't want to be in the city centre. We are so glad we booked this hotel. A special shout out to Hannah who serves the brekfast, the lovley lady on reception (sorry don't know your name) who offered me an umbrella on the morning of the funeral. The waiter who also served brekfast and was so polite. The brekfast was also absolutely lovley.and cooked to perfection, thanks to the chef! The room was lovley and immaculately clean, thanks to the cleaning staff. This should not be a 3 star hotel. We have stayed in 5 star hotels around the world that haven't been as nice and as accommodating as this hotel. Well done Manor Parc on providing a fantastic service. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice apartment with good parking in front. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable living area and bedrooms. The dining area was a bit small for 4 adults, but the outdoor area was good. We liked Caerphilly and enjoyed visiting the castle although parking in that area was difficult to find.

The castle grounds were delightful.

The castle grounds were delightful. Good for exercising and leisure. Unfortunately we stayed for just the week-end (to visit Cardiff half-marathon) plus Monday night and the local restaurants do not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. Our accommodation was perfect for the four of us within easy reach of local amenities with onsite parking for one car. The artisan bakery was a brilliant find. Easy access to train stations with direct access to Cardiff.

Caerphilly isn't a beautiful town, but it's a great place to...

Caerphilly isn't a beautiful town, but it's a great place to stay for stunning scenery half an hour away in the Brecon Beacons. It's ace is the Caerphilly Castle which is the second largest in the UK and should be on your bucket list.

We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily. Only a couple of places were open. Luckily we got into YFan earlier and had a lovely rest and a tea while waiting for our room thanks to the hosts. They made our stay more pleasurable.

For business and just an overnight stay, we didn't spend a great deal of time exploring. I would definitely revisit though. Roads are clearly marked and there is lots of car parks or on street parking depending on the length of your stay. Quite hilly in some areas so worth driving around for 5 minutes to find somewhere more suitable if needed. Morrisons has a large car park limited to 3 hours. We visited the Courthouse for an evening meal and would highly recommend this pub. It's just lovely! Plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a view of the castle. Food and drink was good and the staff were polite and friendly. We also visited the Piccadilly for a game of pool. A quieter pub (Tuesday) but both locals and staff friendly.

I was travelling on my own with my dog. I often do this, but one of the downsides is not being able to have breakfast because I cannot leave her. Breakfast at Rhymney House Hotel is excellent and my dog was allowed with me at the table. I was greeted as I entered the pub and helped up to the room with my case and bag. The room had everything I needed for my stay and was clean and odourless. The bed was very comfortable. The WiFi was very good. There was nice grounds to walk my dog. Probably the best value hotel I have ever stayed in.

The owner Steve was very accommodating, and told me what pubs where good to go to. The "room" was actually a full corner of the house, an upstairs corner bedroom/hallway/bathroom suite. There were windows everywhere and a fabulous view of the Caerphilly valley. The castle is an easy walk away just down the hill, but far enough up the hill that it was silent at night. If you have a car, Cardiff is only an easy short drive away, so you could make this your escape-from-the-madness getaway.
