- The room was beautifully decorated - The hotel, inside and out, was very aesthetic - Nice ‘extras’, such as free bottled water and fresh milk - Staff were friendly and helpful (especially the young man on the door at around 3pm on the 4th) - Comfortable furniture - Plenty of towels left for me despite it being a booking for a single person (often an issue) - Great location

FAQs about hotels in Birmingham

Top-Class Shopping, Culture and Sport

The UK's 2nd largest city, Birmingham is one of its top cultural centres. Well-known for the M6 Spaghetti Junction interchange, it is a surprisingly green city with lots of open spaces.

Most city centre hotels in Birmingham are near New Street Station. To the east is the futuristic architecture of the new Bull Ring shopping centre, and just behind is Digbeth Coach Station. To the west is Victoria Square, home of the town hall and a German Christmas Market.

The Mailbox is one of the newest additions to the Birmingham shopping scene, and behind it is one of the canals converging on the Gas Street Basin. By one canal are the ICC (International Convention Centre) and the NIA (National Indoor Arena), both venues that host major events.

Just opposite is Brindleyplace, a canal-front complex of restaurants, bars and hotels near Broad Street – the main nightlife area. It is popular with students at nearby Birmingham University, whose clock tower is modelled on the one in Siena. Just south in Bournville is Cadbury World, and there are several hotels on Hagley Road to the north, which are available on Booking.com.

The city is also known for sports – Aston Villa and Birmingham City are the top football clubs, while Edgbaston Cricket Ground hosts international matches. Other Birmingham attractions include Hockley’s Jewellery Quarter and the NEC arena by Birmingham International Airport.

Birmingham is an amazing city with loads to see and do.

Birmingham is an amazing city with loads to see and do. It has an amazing shopping centre and plenty of lovely bars and restaurants. There are great venues for plays, music, comedy and lots of other entertainment. The jewellery quarter is incredible and Brindley Place offers so much.

Short trip planned around the Xmas markets. There is lot's to see and do in and around the city. For all ages. Have visited many times over the years. Being pensioners now we use buses to get in and out of the city. Parking is ready avaiable in the outskirts and outside the Uluz zone.

The Hyatt hotel is on a busy street with lots of bars, nightclubs and restaurants. It has within a 5 to 10 minutes walk Birmingham library which is huge, Birmingham Rep theatre, Symphony Hall, Icc and Utilita arena which holds lots of concerts and events. Outside the hotel there is a bus, tram and taxi service which is a 5 minute ride into Birmingham City centre, which has Bullring shopping centre, a wide range of shops.

It was very busy on Saturday afternoon, there was a gig at the arena, I suggest booking for food or go early. Some parts of Brindley place seemed very low lit, outside Picolino for example. We ate at the Cosy Club, the food and staff was good, drank at Botanist, bar staff were good, nice cocktails, but it was fully booked for food and drinks.

The house was ok but it has room for improvements.

The house was ok but it has room for improvements. The improvements could be very simple ones. For example cleaning the backyard, installing more lights in the house, providing few more big size pots for cooking, improving the quality of the furniture. The dining table and the coffee table were of a very poor quality. Mattresses were not comfortable to sleep on. I would suggest to the owner to this property that he should invest little bit of more money and then he could make a lot more money. I tried to clean the backyard and the front yard as much as I could with barehand. Please note it was fall/autumn season so leaves were everywhere and it rains a lot in Birmingham so weeds were also everywhere. I uploaded few photo of the backyard and the front yard. Both of the yards were full of trash/rubbish. I cleaned the trash but didn't clean the leaves.

Excellent value for money for those who need just a place to sleep. I travelled alone to attend an event and came back to the hotel that night just to sleep. The location is excellent, it took me only 15 minutes (walking) to arrive at the hotel from Birmingham New Street Station and from Bullring. Also, it is very close to the City Centre in general, as I could easily get to Symphony Hall and the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery by car. The room was clean and comfortable enough. The continental breakfast was good.

A pleasant stay, a very basic hotel attached to a working man’s pub and directly behind the St Andrew’s (Birmingham City FC) football ground. Staff were lovely, really helpful. Room was clean and tidy, with a good shower and nice tele. For one night and for the money it’s worth it, especially with close proximity to city centre which you can get to in 15 min car, or bus outside the front door.

The staff are lovely! We were greeted by Sean on check-in and he was friendly and very accommodating about keeping our party together, even though it hadn't occurred to me to ask. Throughout our stay, the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The hotel is just a ten minute walk from New St station and very close to everything Birmingham city centre has to offer.
