I was made most welcome on arrival. My room was spacious and clean with a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate plus cake. The room rate was very reasonable and was excellent value for money. There was a restaurant nearby and for a longer walk there was a selection of restaurants on the main road. The location was ideal for the ferry. I would definitely stay here again.

Phil and Paul are very friendly, polite and helpful. The room was immaculate, tea/coffee and bottled water was provided and the bed was super comfy. Everything you could possibly need is literally 2 mins around the corner including shops, cafes, hair dressers, launderette, pubs, Chinese, Indian, kebab house, Dominos the list goes on. Arrowe Park hospital is a 20 minute stroll away which was fantastic as I was there to support my mum through an operation and her recovery. I sometimes got a taxi back due to long, tiring days which was 3-5 mins tops.

i enjoy viewing architecture & art, so the old buildings whether occupied or abandoned I find interesting to check out. I was total self sufficient with my food so did not eat out locally. Birkenhead & its adjacent districts are fairly well sign posted. Satnav is good. but without postal codes, mistakes can be made with journeys to wrong places.

After requesting parking spaces, we arrived to find not just no private parking at the location but any parking on the street had to paid for, so be wary of this - there is NO parking available, if the spaces are all filled up. Also, after highlighting there was no heating, the owner said I should have called him to ask about it, which I wasn't going to do after initially calling him to explain about lack of wifi/smart TV. so I would suggest some basic instructions on where to find and how to operate the heating to be printed up and left in the kitchen, so future guests can turn it on themselves and not be cold through the night, like we were.

Some areas are a little run down.

Some areas are a little run down. I loved the town hall where we attended a wedding. The gardens in Hamilton square were lovely as were the properties. Excellent transport links to the Wirral and Liverpool.

Where we stayed it was within easy reach of a lovely walk a...

Where we stayed it was within easy reach of a lovely walk a long the front by the Mersey going all the way to New Brighton. It's about 2.5 miles but on a summer's evening well worth doing as there is plenty of entertainment and restaurants in New Brighton. It provides a great base to explore Liverpool and Chester.

A quiet area and a bit neglected but some beautiful architecture and some good places to visit. We enjoyed an open mic night at THE SWINGING ARM, a meal at the lovely vegan eatery JORO, and the Woodside Village stalls at the weekend. We also visited Birkenhead Park which inspired Central Park New York but found it rather shabby.

Well what a fiasco landed at the place with the kids after going to watch the liverpool parade been on the road since 5am landed at the property at 8.10pm still waiting for access codes, tried ringing them 4 times and sent 2 messages . Had to ring booking customer service to try and sort out . No joy , they had double booked the place then messaged me to say we weren't booked in until the 27th,lies as it clearly stated 26th to the 27th arriving between 8-9pm , full refund issued , NOT HAPPY terrible communication and service. Avoid

What a excellent little find this was, We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and most of all warm it was when we walked in. The accommodation was spotless and April was very helpful and easy to get hold of. The beds were comfortable (always a bonus :) ) We usually come to the Wirral once a year and have stayed in hotels, but this will be our go to place in future !
