Owner and staff were extremely friendly. Whilst travelling alone for work its always nice to stay in a friendly and open environment, and this hotel certainly didn't disappoint. After been given my room key of a lovely room I went downstairs for dinner and a drink in the nice pub/restaurant. After dinner I had a chat with the owner and staff whom were all very friendly. I was there for work, but if I would be going on holiday in the area, i would definitely stay a few nights with them again. I can recommend!

Tina, the host, was always welcoming, in contact continually, and was personable at every opportunity. The information and continual contact made us feel valued as customers at all times. The rooms and all surroundings were tastefully decorated. Every need was catered for, with nothing too much effort from Tina. Excellent customer service from start to finish. The breakfasts were the best breakfasts of our trip with tea that set a new standard for my tea making at home and a variety of tasty dishes to choose from, some of which included some homegrown produce. The rooms and bathrooms have everything one needs and more. We found it a convenient base to explore central and some of North Wales from: Aberystwyth, Devil's Bridge, and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. The Kerry Ridge walk and the Textile Museum, both local attractions recommended by Tim, were some of our Wales highlights. For evening meals, we enjoyed our meal at Radnorshire Arms on one of the evenings but couldn't find anything in Newtown that we were wild about. Afterwards, we thought we should have done a picnic-style meal in the garden instead of the Newtown places we tried. (The Dolford Inn was unfortunately not serving meals when we were there.) Overall, we loved it and were sorry to have to leave.
