FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Remains and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

It was a great time when we went to Bath, it wasn't too wet and cold. When we had our Roman Baths Tour, it was just cloudy but not pouring and it wasn't crowded. so it was easy for me to navigate and enjoy the tour without it being too many people in the area.

Beautiful place...

Beautiful place... We would have to say the walking tour was well worth while it gave us a wonderful over view of the city. If possible we would recommend doing the walking tour the day you arrive. For dinner we would thoroughly recommend the coconut tree and the Pig and Fiddle was great little go too also.

Bath is really beautiful with lots of great shops,...

Bath is really beautiful with lots of great shops, interesting independent shops, cafes, restaurants and tourist attractions- but there are far too many buskers in every pretty square and street corner! The problem is we didn’t come across one who could sing or play their instrument well - and they all had amplifiers and we’re very loud! It made it impossible to sit outside and enjoy the city. I can’t understand the city council that they allow this. I suspect the doesn’t allow begging (I didn’t see any) so they’ve all become buskers but not very good ones!

The hotel manager was smart, polite, and helpful. My room was large, equipped and spacious, complete with a very comfortable four poster bed, also ensuite with large walk-in shower. The hotel is well positioned with parking, and a very pleasant walk in to beautiful Bath city centre.

Beautiful hotel near enough to walk in to Bath but far enough away that’s peaceful and quiet. Very clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Lovely spa area. Room was well presented with amazing views. Best night sleep I’ve ever had - quiet and not a bit of light spilling through - perfect!

The hotel may be the best hotel in Bath. Our room was spacious and the bathroom very nice. We would have liked a bit more wardrobe organisation, but it was ok (we only stayed for 2 nights). Friendly staff.
